What Parents Say
The YMCA Clermont SACC & Preschool in Batavia receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with most reviewers praising the friendly and welcoming staff, cleanliness, and amenities including indoor and outdoor pools. A few concerns were raised about rising membership fees without corresponding facility updates and social cliques in certain activity groups.
I love everything about going to the Clermont YMCA. The staff is awesome, it’s always clean and the variety of things to do for young and old. My husband and I have kids/grandkids that are members and they go with us often especially for pool time. The lifeguards are very well trained and they all follow the same rules and etc. 😀😀😀😀
Came back to the Y after many years. The staff are AMAZING welcoming and positive. Was part of the first pickle ball group at the Y many years ago. Happy to see that pickleball is played 5 days a week now (instead of only 2) and now 3 courts! :) Extremely discouraged by the arrogance of some of the players. I have played twice now and astounded at the level of rudeness. There is a new system so everyone gets to play in turn. Although certain players manipulate the system to choose who NOT to play with. Being new, a player jumped ahead of me-- I called her out and told her it was my turn to play and got on the court (got a nasty glare). If you are new, NO ONE wants to play with you. The arrogance of some of the players here is awful. No one wants to play with a new player-- they are extremely clique-ish and want to only play with "good" players. I am not new to the game, just rusty. One player had the audacity to tell me to go to the "beginners" session--- and announce publicly to other players "I will never play with her again!" ( guess we lost and he blamed me-- not good enough to play with him?!?). Really not respectful or supportive. I absolutely LOVE pickleball! Love the sport but not the pickleball community here. It was not a good "welcome back" feeling. The level of competitiveness is high amongst some of the players which drives them to cheat on calls, outright just CHEAT to win, make snarky nasty remarks to players not up to their caliber of play (in their own minds), be rude to newcomers and not make a new person feel welcome. Come and play but put on a thick skin to endure the ridiculous pettiness and conceit of the players who feel justified to treat newcomers as gum on the bottom of their special pickleball court shoes😆.
Everyone is friendly but for the price keep going up, they should be doing repairs. Just in the 2 years my fees have gone up $20. They said to keep up, but nothing has been updated. The track definitely could use repair!
I went to this ymca some lady named Carol at pickleball she sprayed lysol in a underage child's face and the mother also was yelling at the mother and son as well as calling another member named Karen to her daughter a bad word and said she doesn't deserve to be alive in this world I can't believe that a ymca would ever allow this such behavior to go on do not recommend going to this ymca ever with a child for a family oriented Christian association this is a disgrace
Such a great Y! I have made many lifelong friends there! Love the Silver Sneaker water and land classes! Sometimes we just hang around after class and socialize. Sometimes, we go out to lunch! Love the employees! They are so welcoming that I look forward to seeing them!
