98% precent of the employee's who work at Genesee Community College are amazingly wonderful! My teacher's are great. The Campus Safety Officer's are kind as ever, & the kitchen employee's are nice as ever. The one part I am not fond of is how expensive the food in the kitchen is. Genesee County is Upstate, NY. It shouldn't be nearly as expensive as it is here for a slice of pizza, etc. Ridiculous. Other than that it's wonderful here. 😄

It never too late they say, well I went here in the late 90's and it was a huge waste of time. The curriculum was so far behind the industry it was a complete joke. I had one professor for the whole major. I spent half my day in front of the same teacher and in hindsight the guy was a dope. The curriculum was based on old out dated practice, the professor could hardy use computers at the time and that was where the industry was surly headed. The professor, Dennis Shine, failed me for Pictorial Drawing 101 because he didn't like how I did the shadowing on my final project, he was the failure, teaching that course in the first place. The outdated course was only offered every other semester and was required to get the degree. I passed everything that had a right or wrong answer and failed the one thing that was subjective. I felt it was personal, he definitely didn't like me by that point. I'm 90% sure he kept a book of mine on purpose. I left it on my desk, last day of class, front of the classroom, I was one of the last person out of room, I realized I left it a few minutes later, went back for it and old Dennis played dumb didn't see it. It was a physics book, It was the only course that was worth anything. I would still have the book had I not left it. So to sum up, great campus if you don't know any better. You may be subjected to a single professor for all the required courses. Your professor may be out of touch. People who can, do; those who can't, teach.

Got my AS in general studies in 1997. Great college to help launch a student towards their major. Great campus and library. I am forever grateful to GCC.

Increased tuition costs with enrollment having decreased each year since 2010, they even increased the cost of the cafeteria plan that is forced upon your tuition bill from $560-$590 all while not increasing the amount of meal swipes. Small portion sizes and the food is always out before their hours of 11am-2pm. They continue to increase prices because enrollment is decreasing but can not offer enough food from the hours that students pay for regarding the meal plan.
