The front and gym staff are very friendly, so there's no issue there, and the remodeling is beautiful. My only issue is with some of the daycare staff. I left my then 5 month old there and walked by to check on him, only to find some of the daycare members on their phones just scrolling and not paying attention. If I leave my child with you, I'm trusting you to watch my child, not be on your phone. This has left me unsettled and instead of bringing him with me when I go to the gym, I have changed the hours I go and leave him with someone I trust to watch him. Some of the daycare staff can be rude and make you feel like you're inconveniencing them when you drop your child off.

I’ve been here on off since the day it open. And the one pet peeve I’ve always had was the children in the hot tub and nothing said to them about it. . I wirnessed something different today. KALLIE said something to them. First time I’ve ever seen one of the lifeguards not ignoring it. Kudos to Cali. I do not know her, nor do I know the others, but I have been frequenting here for awhile and I am happy to see something done about it. It’s a safety issue! Overall, the location is clean, friendly and feels like home most of the time. Lol. Love it here.

I have really mixed feelings about this Y. Post-Covid the number of available group exercise classes has greatly diminished and the classes they do have are often during the day when working people cannot attend. The staff is nice, and the facility is definitely the nicest Y in the area. There are some major drawback though, making me wish York Co had another viable option. First, this Y is so over crowded it is ridiculous. The staff also seems to overlook a lot of things going on. Teenagers will literally take over the equipment to the point where it takes impossibly long to do a short weight routine because they are camping out on the equipment. Last week several teens set up an obstacle course of sorts and were running and jumping over things in the back room. It made it impossible to even access the hand weights. This is just one example of many where the staff just seems oblivious to what is going on, or they don’t care. I have noticed numerous young kids in there with no parent in sight, yet I was told during my kids orientation that children must be adjacent to where you are. A month or so ago a child I would say was about 8 or 9 years old was standing on the rails of the stair climber. He could have been seriously injured had he fallen, yet no parent or staff was around. Staff should not let this circus go on. Finally, the YMCA supposedly has a dress code, but I see women in there almost every time I’m in there shirtless. I know the Y probably can’t do much about the overcrowding, but they could at least try to keep the wellness area under better control. My oldest son has joined another gym because getting his lifting routine done was taking twice as long as it should due to the overcrowding and teens basically playing around on the equipment. If it was not for the convenience, and the fact we do use the Y for a lot of activities and sports for my younger kids, I would go elsewhere.

They took money from my bank even though I filled out a form to hold my account. I was traveling overseas with my friend, and we both put our accounts on hold for 3 months due to travel and remodelling at the facility. When I returned, I checked my account and saw that they had taken money without any notice. When I went to the facility in Yorktown, they said I should have received an email confirming that my account was on hold. I told them I filled out the form here on a YMCA laptop and I asked if they could check and find my name based on the date I put the account on hold. The employee said, "I'm sorry, I can’t do anything for you," and gave me the manager's email address, Ashley. I emailed her, but she never responded to my issue. They don't care about anything—they just want your money to cover the remodelling of the facility. I canceled my account, but I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. They are thieves. 😡

Clean, nice people work there, however, if you're a single parent with child 12, and you're not a member anylonger, the ymca membership for child is not there. There is really no membership for a child, ie 10-12. You must get a family membership $$$ *My only negative experience is, ppl sitting on a workout bench while looking at an iPhone. I'm somewhat confronted and individual after 5+ minutes. This seems to be a trend, especially on chest press, shoulder machine
