My son has been attending Heritage School of Discovery in Oakdale since June 2024, and I truly can’t say enough good things about this school. Since starting, I’ve seen such incredible growth in him, especially socially. His vocabulary has expanded so much, he’s more confident expressing himself, and he’s built genuine friendships that make him excited to go to school each day. I love how much emphasis they place on creativity and self-expression. His art projects are thoughtful and fun, and it’s clear he’s encouraged to explore and be himself. One of my favorite parts is how much time the kids spend outside. He has plenty of opportunities to move, play, and learn in a hands-on environment. Academically, he’s learning in ways that feel natural and fun. He comes home singing new songs, counting, and talking about the days of the week and the months of the year. It’s amazing to watch him absorb so much while genuinely enjoying the process. Most importantly, he absolutely loves his teachers. They are caring, supportive, and truly invested in the kids. Throughout the day the staff sends updates and pictures of my son engaging in various activities. As a parent, that peace of mind means everything. Heritage School of Discovery has been an amazing experience for our family, and I’m so grateful we chose this school. Our son just started the school year at Heritage after attending summer school to help him adjust—and it was his very first experience away from home. Choosing the right school was a huge decision, so we did a lot of research and read every review (as you, reader, may be doing now). We toured many schools until we found Heritage. On our first tour, Ms. Liz took the time to truly connect with our son and calm this anxious mother’s heart. What stood out right away—beyond any curriculum—was how genuinely happy the children were: barefoot, muddy, laughing, and fully immersed in play. Seeing how the teachers embraced our son and how excited the other kids were to be there spoke volumes. We knew then and there that this was the place. Our son is a non-English speaker, which made us extra cautious, but the teachers have been incredibly patient and supportive. The school strikes a beautiful balance between structure and freedom, giving kids space to explore, imagine, and grow. Heritage’s focus on outdoor learning and discovery play is exactly what our very active and independent child needed. From his first day, he walked into class with confidence and didn’t even look back. We also love their app: we receive multiple photos daily, suggestions for home activities, the weekly plan, and easy communication with staff—especially Miss Becky, who is always responsive and kind. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Heritage and couldn’t imagine a better place for our son to thrive. We're excited for the year ahead!
My son has been at Heritage for about 6 weeks now, and we couldn’t be happier. We transitioned him from a different daycare/preschool where he was having difficulty napping, and from the very beginning, the staff made the transition and expectations clear. We love that we still receive frequent updates and lots of photos through the app—most of them showing him enjoying the outdoors! At his previous daycare, outdoor space was limited, but Heritage provides plenty of time and space outside, which is exactly what our energetic boy needed. They even incorporate outdoor learning, which has been such a great fit for him. The fresh air and active play tire him out just enough, and now he naps without much issues. Overall, we’ve seen him thriving here. He’s always excited to see Miss Hope, and the staff have been so caring and communicative. We currently have him enrolled full-time, and it truly feels like the best decision we could have made for him. Thank you to the entire team at Heritage for taking great care of our son and keeping us informed every step of the way!
We love Heritage! The caring teachers create a warm, inclusive environment where my son thrives. The balance of outdoor play, small and large group time, arts and crafts, and social activities makes each day exciting and enriching for him. It’s a wonderful place for little ones to learn, grow, and build friendships.
This is our first year at heritage and we have had such a pleasant experience so far. The teachers are amazing and extremely patient and supportive. The opportunity of discovery play that they provide is exactly what we were looking for and is not the average preschool set up which is why I think it makes it unique. It’s a very organized and well rounded place to be apart of as well. We feel welcomed safe and happy to be there!
