WARNING- Not Supportive to Breastfeeding Mom's. I don't often write reviews, but I felt compelled to tell other mom's of my experience. My daughter was at Hansel & Gretel for a few months. In that time there were several changes to the baby rooms. During one of the changes I was told that the breastmilk would be left out of the refrigerator the entire day because they "didn't have enough staff" to go to the refrigerator to get it. I complained about this as the breastmilk I brought was warm when I picked up my child. They needed to make a "special provision" for me to keep my child's breastmilk in the refrigerator after I complained. They also did not have a place for mom's to breastfeed. In the several months that I was there, I breastfed my child a handful of times at the center and felt discriminated against for doing it. When I asked the teachers if it there was a place to breastfeed, they would offer me a toddler chair or the floor. After I breastfed one time, I was approached by the owner, April, who told me that if I were to breastfeed, I needed to “find a corner” “or sit facing a wall” with my child’s head completely covered. April was very rude and patronizing (which is her typical demeanor). When I told her that covering my child’s head was not something I felt comfortable with, I was told that I needed to hold my baby a particular way in order to breastfeed. Even though Hansel and Gretel has been officially investigated by CPS and has said that it intends to make changes, I would not recommend this facility. I especially feel this way since April fills in often and watches the children. If I feel this way when talked to by her, how will my daughter feel being watched by her? My daughter’s new daycare is great! So happy we left.
Excellent childcare for my infant, no major illnesses and no diaper rash! Even better for my 3 year old - many educational activities and art projects. No complaints after having a child there for over 2 years. Bonus that 2 snacks, lunch, and milk is provided by facility.
Bases off a telephone call with this place I have decided to not even consider taking my child there. The lady who answered was so rude and would not even give me rates over the phone, as I was asking for prices she rudely said, “ what do you need? We don’t have availability now” then I said I wanted information for August of next year and she said “well the prices change” and I said I would like to have an idea of what price range I’m looking at then she said “ who is this anyway” I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me she was out and would be back in 30 min. I said thank you and was preparing to hang up and I hear her say “yeah that’s what I thought!” I could not believe these people take care of children!!! I called back and the supervisor was more rude than the employee! She then says to me that she was standing in earshot of her employee when this conversation took place and accused me of hanging up on her employee!!! First of all, someone is lying because the employee had told me the supervisor wasn’t there! And now the supervisor was saying she was standing within earshot! If they lie about something as simple as who was present during a phone call I can’t imagine what else they lie about! Every other day care I called was very nice pleasant and helpful.
Since my son has been there, (age1). There curriculum is set for each age group. The staff is amazing. Not even two and my son can identify all colors, knows the alphabet, count in Spanish and is happy to answer questions when asked. I am so thankful he is part of this daycare and it’s history. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
