What Parents Say
This is an athletic club, not a daycare center. Reviews praise the facility's extensive amenities, friendly staff, and welcoming atmosphere, though some note it caters primarily to older demographics and has limitations in certain areas.
I'm going to give my honest opinion. This gym is outdated for the money they want to charge. The staff seems to have issues with each other. The basketball court is actually decent but if you want to play games it's 120$ which was never brought to my attention. I've asked multiple times to added but my wishes have not be answered not really surprised. The hor tube does not work. Members has told me that it never works. If your looking for a gym to work out with nice up to date go to crunch fitness or lifetime. This gym needs to be sold to lifetime . I will not be coming back I will return to LA fitness.
The facility could be amazing. I have only been a member for 2-years but the maintenance seems to be an issue w new ownership. Only 10% of equipment on the 3rd floor around the track is fully functional. The jacuzzi in the ladies locker room hasn't functioned in 3-months- first 7-weeks were due to an on/off button and now it's barely warm. As a result of non-working spa amenities, I've cleaned-out and attempted to turned in my locker ($20 pr month) and left multiple voice & written messages beginning in October, still no response. I used to enjoy this club and hope new ownership can make the necessary repairs. Update: 1 month later and the facilities continue to decline. None of the equipment on the 3rd floor functions properly. Now the jacuzzi and steam room are dysfunctional in ladies locker room. No response from facilities manager yet on update as to when they will be fixed. At this point, I can only assume they have no intention of making repairs.
I absolutely love this gym! I visited all of the lifetimes in the greater atlanta area, and even the midtown athletic club, but this concourse felt like home. If you’re someone who prefers working out with the latest equipment and likes a high intensity environment, this may not be the place for you. But, if you enjoy a plethora of good quality amenities, a wonderfully friendly staff (and patrons), and a more spa like feel, I would choose concourse. I can’t imagine myself not coming here!
Let me start by saying this is a great gym. It has all the amenities you could possibly want and more. So why the 3 stars? After being a member here for 6 months I decided to pay to get out of my contract and go back to LA Fitness. I’m very serious about my workouts and prior to coming to concourse was going to the gym 6 days a week 2-3 hrs a day. I quickly found out that the average age here is early to mid 40’s. From not being around others even close to my age, I started losing motivation to go. The gym is somewhere that needs to a motivating atmosphere. Unfortunately Concourse also catered in majority to the 50’s+ age group. Not once did I ever see an event geared towards 20-30’s and only went to the pool a couple times due to the earliest music being from the 80’s. But great gym if that’s your thing or you don’t mind. Even though not as clean, I’m happy to say I’ve regained my motivation at LA Fitness.
I was previously a member of the club in 2016-2017 and loved it. I had to leave because I moved jobs. It is now July of 2019 and I wanted to rejoin. I had a guest pass previously provided by their sales director at the time, Rachel. Rachel no longer works there... such a shame, because the new sales director has coached their employees to be extremely pushy on membership. I had an awful experience with Lindsey the sales person. I went in with my guest pass ready to see how I felt back in the gym as well as see new improvements that may have happened since I left 2 years ago. I spent 30 minutes with her answering questions and letting her know my workout needs. She presented pricing and asked how soon I was willing to sign up. I was not given much time to make a decision, it was now or never. I gave her all of my contact information and told her I would decide by the end of the week. I was ready to go workout and she came back and told me they do not usually allow guest passes, anymore but did I have a referral or anyone I knew that may want to join so that my guest pass was useful. I said that I didn't think so. She then asked my fiancé's full name and I told her his name reluctantly. This was after I said he didn't like to workout. She said she needed some name for her sales director. At this point I am feeling immense pressure and regret keeping my guest pass all these years. She goes back to her sales director then comes back out and tells me they do not approve my guest pass!! After all of this. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a gym. What a waste of 30 minutes and they absolutely lost my potential membership. The old concourse experience was ten times better and I would not recommend even testing out this gym - such an stressful experience and I'm extremely disappointed in what I experienced from their sales team.
