This center has become family❤️I’ve sent almost all my children here and I must say we absolutely love them… no center is perfect due to getting to learn one another, but being loyal definitely paid off. When I leave my baby’s I know there in great hands and that’s everything to a mother and father…..your baby’s will be love/ loved on and kept safe. They’ll grow and learn so much here. Being at there best on there journey to school. Huge thankyou to Jeanette and Melody for alway making a way loving our baby’s and always working with our family. Thankyou our Youthland family.
My 2-year-old son has been attending the Norwood Youthland for about 1 ½ years, and we couldn’t be happier with the care he receives. The environment is warm, comfortable, and nurturing—perfect for young children. It’s clear to see how much he has grown and learned during his time there. The staff genuinely care about the kids, and Mrs. Jeannette is simply the best! She goes above and beyond to ensure the children feel loved and supported. We are so grateful for everything they do. Highly recommend this daycare!
The daycare at Youthland stands out as exceptional. Having one of my boys enrolled there, I've been impressed by the care and attention to detail. My one-year-old's adventurous spirit often leads to minor mishaps, but I'm grateful for the support he receives there. Reflecting on my older son's experiences who is in kindergarten now, having been to multiple centers due to his untreated ADHD, Youthland shines brightly for my youngest. Unlike other centers, the staff at Youthland prioritize education, security, and safety. They're not just there for a paycheck; they're committed to providing continuous care and support.
We were in the toddler room at Youthland Academy-Norwood for a little over a month after moving to Cincinnati. It hits the very bottom rung of okay. They fall short in 3 important areas: Safety- They have a door code to the main door, but the door does not automatically close fully and is frequently left ajar. In addition to this door not closing, they have a half-wall door that is almost always open. I’ve made an effort to close it and seen staff then prop it open with chairs. They also don’t have a sign-in unless you are on a voucher program, so if there was an emergency it would be hard for them to know everyone was accounted for. Communication- Communication is very poor. The biggest issue is with picking up. We will enter the room and talk with our child and the other kids for a bit and the assistant teacher still won't look up from her notes, the chore she’s doing, or her phone. When we ask her how our child’s day was, we often get one word answers. If we ask for more info, we’re met with visible frustration. They also don’t give you any real written communication. They have a half-sheet with topics they could do with the kids during the day, but they never circle any of them. They just fill in meals and diaper changes. Enrichment- There seems to be minimal high-quality interactions between the teachers and children–at least from what we’ve seen. I’ve picked our child up at various times between 3pm and 5pm and kids have been watching cartoons on the assistant’s phone or ipad. I might be more of a stickler on screen time than other parents, but I expect the teachers to try to engage my child in reading or play, especially for the price of daycare. It also does not seem like they provide enough opportunities for liquid intake. My child regularly begs for milk or water as soon as I pick them up, which never happened at our previous daycare. Janette, the program director, is kind and a good communicator and has even answered a call after hours when our child had a big bruise on their arm that the teacher hadn’t told us about at pick up. Some of the staff have shown genuine care and better communication, but overall I would not recommend sending your kid here.
I do not recommend anyone sending their children there. Two of my grandchildren ages 9 month and 2 yrs old attended Youthland in Norwood. The teachers lacked professionalism especially in the toddler rooms. Always on their cell phones cursed in front of parents I also witnessed one snatch a child then realized I was in the room. The infants were neglected and confined to seats all day no stimulation provided. My 9 month old grandsons personality totally changed in the short time he was there you could tell he was neglected. Very few toys noticed and they were always dirty. In my 2 year old granddaughters room I only ever saw dirty dinosaurs and a few dirty dolls for the kids to play with. This was a very unprofessional environment and the staff lacked proper childcare skills/training, compassion or desire to nurture children. I can only imagine a parent keeping their children there out of desperation.
