This a very bad place. People smoke meth and k2 in the shared rooms and the staff are not willing to acknowledge it. The supervisor insists she can only do a walk through and if she doesn’t see nothing she can’t do nothing. Clients come high and pick up fights with no intervention through the night. You cannot sleep or keep your belongings safe. Case managers refuse to help you move to a different facility because that would mean acknowledging the poor state of this place. So once you’re put here you can only leave by going back to the street without proper support for transition to any other shelter. They blame clients as uncooperative for trying to file grievances. I’ve seen staff yell slurs at addicts that cannot control their own because they have anyone working at this place without clear knowledge of how to deal with homeless people. Truly a shameful program riddled with harmful bureaucracy made to give some people a job off the poor.

The space is dirty but ok. You most likely will be put in a big room with dozens of men but with separations every 2 beds so you only see 1 other person all the time but every one else in the room can get to your corner. There’s cameras but they insist that they won’t help you when someone steals your stuff. Staff is very disrespectful specially the women checking lockers and the big guy that talks slow. They don’t know how to address people politely or don’t care about their job enough to be respectful to the homeless people they work with then they will say it’s their job to act like that, inciting problems then blaming you for trying to stand for yourself. Besides that, the food is alright same as everywhere but you can take it to go. No WiFi in building

Lived there for a year and had a great experience. Didn't have a place to live when I got to NYC and they really treat me and everybody else as decent human beings, and it was very, very clean and sanitized, Thank you so much volunteers of America for your assistance👍🏾

People are getting high in the dorm while other people are trying to sleep. Smoking K2 and doing everything to make life uncomfortable for the majority of the people in here.
