The East Side House

Got my GED within 4 months through this program. I am really grateful that I came here! It's life changing! Side note concerning ESH: You can really tell they genuinely care /trying to help! They have a genuine community vibe. I really love it. They also encourage you to excel and not "settle for less" as I've been told by one of their advocates. Another side note:They also offer CPR, OSHA, Food handling licenses and things like that. 20/10 Thanks again! 😄

I’m actually a former graduate of the program. I’ve been affiliated with this agency for quite some time now and all staff are wonderful. One of the best organizations to obtain your GED. The atmosphere is created for students to excel. It’s very clean, resourceful and are bridging the gaps for persons in and out their communities who lack resources for education and employment. I love it there and would suggest anyone who’s looking to obtain the HSE to definitely enroll in East Side House Settlement.

I went here years ago, thanks to them I got my first job but I never got to graduate since they never sent me to go take the test so I can get my High school equivalency diploma. I ended up leaving on my own terms as it was no longer beneficial to stay and took the test at maria cruz testing center. Guess what? I passed in one go. Sucks because I probably would have had my diploma earlier if they had more confidence in me. But you want something done, you gotta do it yourself. The best lesson I've learned and I've stuck with it ever since.

I am a past student in this school program. I was referred to this school by a work agency in South Bronx. The staff here was excellent. Unfortunately, I had to leave because of personal reasons, but thanks to Mr. Campbell and Mr. Thomas's teachings, I was able to take the GED test in another state, passing all subjects. 😊😊😊

This place is a wonderful place to obtain your GED ! Every one, including teachers, staff and counselors all seriously care about the individuals that want to further their education. Not only is this place the perfect place to obtain your GED, this place offers help to find a job, and it is directly connected to a few colleges! They even have classes for those that want to go to college to help prepare them to get there. So not only are you getting your GED here, you're never really left alone because the staff and counselors look out for you even after you have your GED under your arm. The best part is that even if you decide to leave for a while, you're able to come back and they will help you enroll into college the right way. Not only that, you could walk back out of that place with a JOB. This place and program offers all kinds of different help, not only academically, not only financially, but emotionally wise, too. This program is super helpful, consistent, promising and the best part about it are the loving, hard working individuals that make that place run smoothly and that make that place feel like home! Just like in any place or program, its up to the individual to make the best out of it; and if they take this program, everything and everyone they offer seriously, they'd walk out of there with something more than just a passing score on their GED, they'd walk out of there with a future.
