I only have experience with 2 daycares. This one is ok. I have a child in the infant and toddler rooms as well as one in the 3k room. This past school year (23-24) has been a little hectic. For a period of time they have had staffing issues and would frequently close down classrooms entirely, close them early (2:30p) or message parents about 8:30-9 in the morning to say they are at capacity. I know they are currently working on it and they have hired some more staff. We have a major teacher shortage in this country and Daycares have taken a huge hit as well. That being said, I trust that my kids are ok while they are in the care of this Sunshine House. Judith, Raquel, Emily and Ms. Angela are amazing and they really care about the kids. My youngest has some insane food allergies and everyone is doing amazing work keeping him safe. Ms Joy is a great director. There are a few weird billing things that pop up. I haven't been overcharged, but I have occasionally been undercharged due to an odd glitch in the system. I've always brought it to their attention, and they usually take a look at it. They have an open door policy for parents. There's a code on the door so not just anyone can walk in, but I can come and go as I please and just watch the cameras in the hallway if I want to. If it weren't for the staffing issues, they would be fantastic.
I have had my daughter in this daycare since she was 6 weeks old. She's now 7 months old and we've loved the daycare since day 1. They watched her meticulously when she was younger and someone was always holding her or she was in her crib safe and sound. Now that she's older, she crawls around and plays with toys all day. The facility has always been very clean and well staffed and they're very attentive to my daughter. I get detailed reports of her day everyday through the app and I even occasionally get pictures of her. I'd recommend this daycare to anyone.
- would not recommend this daycare to ANYONE! Judith && Raquel are the only 2 good teachers that really care about the kids ! I was told to pay a payment that was not charged to my account the first weeks kids started && later tried to charge it to my account months later && was told if I didn’t pay it my kids could no longer attend .. tried to reach out to higher up .. no response .. nor did the director try to reach back out to me after telling her assistant to serve me the letter .
I enjoy taking my child to a daycare that has great communication skills. I can ask a million questions and they all will be answered. I appreciate the flexibility of this daycare and i appreciate the staff. This daycare helped me potty train my child and i thank them for that.
I enrolled my grandson here as it was the ONLY place in the area with an opening. My grandson started in December and ended in February. I enrolled my grandson here for care as I am his caregiver while his mother, serving in the USN, is deployed. Upon enrollement, I made it clear my grandson would attend for 2-3 weeks and then be gone for a period. I always made a point to let them know when he would be away. Upon picking him up in February, I let his room teacher know it was his last day for a weeks, then he would return. Lo and behold, upon dropping him off at daycare this morning (4 Mar 24) I was approached and told that my grandson was no longer in the system. Basically, the teacher passed the wrong information to someone higher up and my grandson was essentially kicked out of his daycare class. I work full time. I'm now left to scramble for care which is almost non-existent due to childcare shortages all over the city. Disappointed is an understatement. At no point did a director contact myself or my grandson's mother to confirm his absence. Upon dropping him off this morning, his daycare room still had a cubby with his belongings. Yet, no spot for him and no attempt to make the situation right.
