This is not a good sign. Employees should be accountable for each other. The news show that other employees and/or manager(s) didn't care enough internally at previous times UNTIL it became public. Posted: Aug 14, 2025 / 09:34 AM EDT Updated: Aug 14, 2025 / 09:34 AM EDT AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – An Aiken County daycare employee was arrested for allegedly refusing to feed her own child and for dislocating another child’s elbow. On June 11th, an Aiken Public Safety Officer responded to the Sunshine House on S. Centennial Ave. for a report of an employee abusing her own daughter. Reports say that Raven Tyler was giving food to the children, but neglected to give her own child a meal. After not receiving food, the child allegedly began to eat food off the floor. A witness said that was when Tyler jerked her daughter by the arm, lifting the child off the floor. In another report, on the same day, two ADPS officers spoke with another parent whose child was in Tyler’s care at the Sunshine house. The woman told them that she got a call she needed to pick up her son from the facility due to behavioral issues. She said when she picked him up, she noticed the child was not using his left arm. When the woman took her son to his doctor, he was diagnosed with a dislocated elbow. When officers reviewed surveillance video, it showed Tyler pick up the boy by his left arm and allegedly drag him across the room to a chair.
The director is HORRIBLE! No Structure in this facility at all. My 2yr old son was snatched up by a worker and told to shut up on camera and she is still employed at this facility. (During covid every daycare was short staff supposedly) My son and other children have been bitten on several occasions so severely it has bleed causing a permanent scars. The final straw was my son was bit 3 times in one week and left with a wet and soiled diaper on from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!
My daughter has been going to the Sunshine House for almost 7 months and she LOVES it! She loves her teachers and she’s excited to go to daycare. Once I go back to work next month my son will be starting there too, and I feel so confident knowing that my kids will be safe, cared for, and enriched while I’m working.
The Sunshine house has been amazing when caring for my grandson. I love that they send daily pictures and what they eat to soothe the nerves of new parents as well. They are patient and my grandson LOVES coming to see all his teachers and little friends. Definitely recommend!
My daughter 2 and my son 1 have been going to this sunshine house for a couple of months now and they love it. The ladies in the front office are very polite and friendly. The teachers in the class rooms are loving and caring. My daughter's vocabulary is increasing daily and they are helping with potty training and my son is growing leaps and bounds. I plan to keep them here for awhile.
