What Parents Say
Rainbow Child Care Center in Charlottesville receives mostly positive feedback from parents who praise the warm, caring staff and engaging learning environment. However, there are serious concerns from a few families regarding staff-to-child ratios in infant rooms, inconsistent care quality, and alleged inappropriate staff behavior.
Do not recommend. Our son attended for two months this summer because they were the first place to have availability when we moved to town. He left once a spot became available elsewhere. The staff in the infant rooms are consistently out of ratio - at times we would drop off and there would be 8-10 infants with one staff member. He would come home in diapers that were not his own. While we were trying to break him of a pacifier, we would receive pictures of him uploaded to the app where he was using a random pacifier, after telling the staff we didn't want him using one. The worst part was undoubtedly playing the "baby hunger games." Because of consistent short-staffing and illness, we frequently had to rush out the door in the morning hope that we were one of the first four babies in the room, or else we were SOL for childcare for the day. My child also consistently came home in dirty clothes, something which has not happened at his new daycare.
Our son has been attending Kindercare for a few months now after having negative results with prior sitter in the past, we are extremely happy we made the switched to Kindercare. The staff & directors have been welcoming, knowledgeable, & caring to our sons and our needs/questions. We are extremely satisfied with the care our son has received. We love the constant updates & photos we get thru out the day. We also love that they do activities to keep it fun while they learn. We would recommend Kindercare to any parent.
I will not recommend this place , we sent our little one when she is 3 years old , after a couple of weeks she was crying and not ready to go to kinder care and even crying in sleep too , we thought she might-not liked that place , after couple of months she said a lady hit her on the neck and which made her upset and she is so afraid to go to kinder care , I ask her if did she touch u or hit you , then she showed me how and where exactly they hit her , I wish I know this when we were in that state , parents beware of this daycare
Our daughter attended Riverbend in the infant classroom during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were extremely happy with everything during our time there. Her teachers were clearly very experienced, kind and warm. We always felt confident that she was loved and well-cared for. We found the administrative staff very helpful and easy to work with and felt the adapted well to keep everyone safe during the pandemic. Would definitely recommend based on our experience there.
My son was about 2.5 when I sent him to this school.. he would cry hysterically every time we got to the door. I assumed he was just having a hard time adjusting to the new environment.. one day I got a call from the school right before the time I’d pick him up. The staff told me “my son was at the table having lunch outside and was playing and fell back and got a boo boo, but he’s doing fine” it just didn’t sound right to me so I hurried to go get him …. And his mouth was completely busted, his tooth went through his gum, and his top lip was HUGE! Once I got there they told 3 DIFFERENT stories & wouldn’t let me see any camera footage hence because the cameras “ keep rolling and do not save”. I wouldn’t recommend this place/franchise to ANYONE.
