What Parents Say
Proverbs Place receives highly polarized reviews. Most parents praise small class sizes, academic progress, Christian values, staff stability, and family-like environment. However, recent negative reviews cite significant decline in quality following a directorship change in January, with complaints about the new director's management style, staff turnover, and decreased academic engagement.
We enrolled our 4 year old and 1 year old at Proverbs Place. It was the best decision we could have made! Initially, we had our 4 year old attending daycare on base (Quantico) and what a difference we have seen in our son. The class sizes are much smaller and the teachers are more hands on. Our son has picked up on so much so quickly academically speaking. His behavior has changed for the better and he is actually enjoying his books more because he's recognizing the words. This school is like a family environment. Even my one year old (17 months) is picking up on colors and matching! I couldn't believe that this happened so quickly in comparison to our previous experience. Another great thing I like about Proverbs Place is the fact that majority of the staff and teachers have been there for at least 4 years. The place is always clean and tidy. My kids have been attending since September and *knock on wood* no germ type outbreaks. š
I give this daycare 5stars in everything.Best and professional teachers.Clean environment and above all my child is able to learn lots on the Bible and use them.Iād recommend Proverbs Place Daycare to anyone looking for a safe and good place for the children.
It says to be as detailed as possible...well...this place is horrible. The staff is the only good thing and all the good staff are leaving. But I cannot blame them. Proverbs was once an amazing school. It was fun. The children had fun, it was like a family. But most importantly, the children came home everyday learning something new. Not so much anymore. Since the new director started in January, Proverbs Place has taken a turn for the worse. My child never wanted to go to school anymore and now we are at Minnieland which in my mind is a down grade. You come from this small, organized family oriented christian center with a great curriculum and go to "Minnieland"...? That is backwards. Most of the children are leaving and for a school that opened up 8 years ago and now it has lower numbers now then when they started, says something. The new director, Ms Stephens is rude, not a people person and is the devil wearing a dress. She says the first thing that comes to her mind which majority of the time is something rude or nasty. And even when she talks to the staff members she's disgusting. I was taught to treat people with respect and if it were not for the teachers there, I would have taken my child out as soon as the male director left. He was amazing. Now the school food is gross, the field day they just had was horrible and unorganized and I tell everyone I come in contact with that is looking for childcare, do not place your child at Proverbs Place. On top of that, the Director, Benita Stephens has a criminal record. Google her. When the children have birthday parties she is the topic of all the parties and all the parents say the same thing, that Proverbs has really changed and this is no place we want our children to remain. My daughter has been gone for a month and besides putting her in there when she was a baby, that was the best decision I have made. My son tells me all the time he does not want to go back, and as a parent I have to listen. My children will never go back to Proverbs, unless they get a new director and the old teachers come back. Now its a turn over of teachers, the teachers there do not look happy, and its all because the director. There's an imaginary gray cloud hanging low in the hallway as soon as you walk into the center, it's just not a happy place to be anymore. Parents...get your children out now, while they still have some sort of happiness in them. I only gave them one star because it wouldn't let me give them zero.
My kindergartener opened this school and was reading fluently with comprehension before the end of his first year. He was taught by a chemist. He was engaged academically and had fun with STEM related activities. He also learned Christian values and developed a love of learning. I cannot say enough about this wonderful school.
A great place for child development. The administrator and his team have great passion and empathy for what they do. They see each child as theirs. I recommend this place for every child.
