A True Blessing in Our Community Powell’s Learning and Development Center has truly been a godsend for our family. Both my son and daughter attend this center, and from day one, the experience has been nothing short of amazing. The warmth, professionalism, and genuine care that radiates from every staff member; from the owner and director down to the teachers make this place stand out in every way. What I appreciate most is how loving and trustworthy everyone is. As a parent, there’s no greater peace than knowing your children are safe, nurtured, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. Powell’s gives me that peace every single day. They’ve also been incredibly supportive and flexible in times of need, showing a level of compassion and understanding that goes beyond just “doing a job.” They are truly invested in the well-being of each child and their families, and it shows. Powell’s isn’t just a childcare center; it’s a staple in the Lithonia community, a place where children thrive and parents are supported. I am beyond grateful for everything they do for our family. Thank you, Powell’s, for being a light in our lives!

I visited this location. The staff were sweet, kind, and personable. My issue was with the daycare upkeep. I walked into the building and a not so good smell hit me. There was a gentleman cleaning the area at the time as well so it could’ve the heat and cleaning supplies. I continued to do a walk through, looked down at the air vent on the floor. It was disgusting it was full of dirt and I mean loaded. There was no way children walk by it along with staff and no one noticed all of the dirt in the vent. I continued to look around to find more vents and all of the vents look just as bad. I asked the staff member how often is this establishment cleaned. She said EVERYDAY, I was shocked. There was no way this places was cleaned everyday and the air vents were that dusty. All I could think about was the lung issues my child could suffer. The price and staff are amazing but the establishment needs to hire a new cleaning company.

This center has been a total lifesaver/job saver for us! My situation is unique and i use this learning center as a drop in. And they have never turned me away!! The ladies there are so sweet. My 4 yr old always has only good things to say about her day there!! Love it! Thanks ladies for caring for my baby while we’re at work!!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE MANAGEMENT TEAM BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, MY SON’S 2 PRE-K TEACHERS! They are awesome and has played a big part in his education, it shows tremendously and I couldn’t have imagined myself picking a much better Pre-K program than Powell’s to help my baby grow and become so much more brighter and smarter. Ms. Yvette and Ms. Alicia you guys are the best, you’ve helped me with Parker in ways that I don’t think other Pre- K programs wouldn’t have. He’s got the hang of potty training within a blink of an eye, he’s learned compound words and quickly catching on, he’s counting to 100 and he’s spelling his name to only be 4, going on 5! I have a future president or whatever he wants to be when he gets older on my hands. And i owe every thank you to you 2. He loves you guys so much, and so do I. Keep up the good work to all the staff members over at Powell’s that has been so patient, loving, and caring with my son. Love 💜

The best childcare center in the lithonia area. Very professional, caring teachers, and fun activities for the kids. My son begs to go to Powell’s everyday after school. They run a great summer program as well. Ms. Powell and Ms. Grant run a fine business. Thank you for everything.
