I can not say enough about Finch Academy. It has been a major blessing for my child. She joined Ms. Woods' group last year and has completely fallen in love with her. To the point that she would cry every day when I showed up to take her home, pleading for "just a few more minutes." The entire Finch team has become her family. My older 2 children have also felt the love, and request to spend their summers at Finch Academy rather than their typical camp. The only complaint I have is that I didn't find Finch Academy sooner! Her learning level is far surpassed that which her siblings were at the age of 4. I tell everyone who asks about a daycare/private school, you'll love it here!

My child was being bullied in a charter school and had given up on liking school. I transferred him to Finch and in a matter of one school year his grades rebounded, he loves school and he got accepted to the private school of his choice. The teachers are loving and kind and take the education, both academic and social, of their kids very seriously. They push the kids to be their best in all they do. I would highly recommend Finch Academy to anyone that asks and have.

This is my 2nd year with Finch Academy and I LOVE IT!!!!!, My Daughter started in Ms. Woods Class as a Pre-K 3, I took her out to try Public School GA Pre-K...... I HATED IT! Sadly as a teacher in the public school system, I should have known better. I immediately, called Mrs. Jaffany and Ms. Kira, they accepted my Daughter back and even accepted my two year old son! Both of my children are flourishing in this school! My daughter is reading and my son is excelling greatly. I am confident that my daughter will be more than ready for Kindergarten and my son will continue on the same path as my daughter. I truly appreciate Mrs. Jaffaney, Ms. Kira, Ms. Woods and Ms. Sandy. They truly look after my kids like they are there own and help our family tremendously. I recommend this school. They are great!

2nd Post Cons: My review will be extremely long; however, it does consist of the pros (1st post) and cons (2nd post) I personally experienced which I had to post multiple reviews because of the length I was advised same day the infant-PreK programs would be terminated effective immediately. This was on a Friday (2/7), which means Monday I would not have child care through Finch Academy. The reason given (to me) was inadequate care/teaching. Then I learned from some Pre School & PreK students parents that they were told only the infant-toddler programs were ending, not Pre-school or Pre-K. When I addressed them about being told one thing while other parents are being told differently, the response I got was that they are working very hard to keep Pre-K and to bare with them for 2 weeks. However, the infant, lunch relief/closing AND PreK teachers were terminated Friday too, but not the Toddler teacher. The reason given doesn’t make any sense! Why should the students and parents suffer when the choice of staff is the school’s decision? Even if the reason was true, why not give parents adequate time (2-weeks) to find a new provider? This means there was no care or consideration for the predicament you’re placing the parents in. That’s very cold and unprofessional, especially when you’re making it out to be the teachers fault for this decision. Now ONE (infant) teacher, yes! I can honestly say she was too inexperienced to be working there but she was only employed there briefly prior to this change. I personally find it hard to believe that the reason I was given is in fact the true reason to close those programs consisting of half the total students. I’ve witnessed high turnover with the infant, toddler and PreK staff. K-12 is taught by the owner/director so of course that teacher would be consistent. Just from what I remember from May 2017 - Feb 2020, there has been 7 teachers for the toddler class alone, 2 PreK teachers, and 3 infant teacher changes. Another problem was communication. At one point children who were there passed 5:30 would not receive dinner IF they were not signed up for it. No email communication was sent out regarding that. I came across the sign up sheet that was placed on the table at the entrance of the school but had I not been nosey to see what it was for, I wouldn’t have known to sign my children up for the dinner program. As a parent coming in to the school seeing your kid(s) not eating while the other children are is very disappointing and you would automatically assume the teacher made the decision to not feed your child when that was a rule of the director and/or administration. Thankfully they made the decision to allow ALL kids who were there passed 5:30 to be fed dinner whether they were signed up for it or not. I was also bothered by the fact that toddlers and PreK would at times go without snack (told to me by both toddler and PreK teachers). To be told by the PreK teacher AND the toddler teachers (the last one hired) that they are not always given all of the snacks that I donate specifically for those TWO class rooms is alarming to me. I was told when the PreK teacher asked the admin about the snacks I purchased for that classroom their response was “why?” And to just give them something else. Also, the snacks purchased for the toddlers were being passed out to K-8. I don’t mind sharing those snacks amongst the entire school, but not when snacks are typically low in the classrooms that my children are in. Overall, I believe this school has the potential to be from what I consider to be a good school; a great school. I think that a host of other changes need to take place as well. I’m sure my review (con) will not be received well. I’m always rooting for black businesses to flourish and I wish nothing but the best for this school
