Its been almost 5 years since I graduated from MS 118 and all I think about are the missed opportunities I never jumped on. As far as learning goes, everything was setting students up to take high school regents exams, in the end of 8th grade. What this means is that students coming straight from elementary school are put into regorous learning, allowing them to be better prepared for high school as well as college. Yes, this means students are given lots of homework but this is preparing your kids to become well rounded indivuals later on. As far as staff goes, some of them can be rude and some them are very pleasant to talk to, especially when you have a bad day. I attended Spectrum Academy and almost all my teachers were great; they really do care about your success in school, so much so that they would have no problem with you coming up during lunch to review (as long as you asked in advance). This school, while I was attending, was a well known school becuase of its abilitiy to produce perceptive students and many of the students go on to attend high schools like the Bronx High School of Science (you just have to put in the effort and study). A lot of my former classmates from this school ended up going to schools like Princeton University, Boston University and many other accedited American univerisies; not saying that MS 118 helped them get there but it gives you an idea of the type of students attending MS 118. In the end I have no regrets going to this school, even if it took me an hour and a half to get to and from school. This school prepared me so much that I had the opportunity to graduate a year early in high school becuase of the high school classes I took, back in middle school. Hopefully this gives many of you a better insight of what opportunities MS 118 has instore for you and your kids.

school makes no sense, Most teachers/staff are very rude and think that a kid can't be right about something . Some good teachers. Have been to this school before as 6th and 7th, one of my teachers don't teach! P.A.L is changing in an okay way. With Phil back he makes it a very fun program. If you want to have idiotic teachers apply if not don't apply trust me

The teachers their sometimes are very harsh and it isn’t fun there. Such as, there’s no recess. The food that’s served aren’t tasty and the staffs their are mean. At that school, they don’t give us a break from work such as H.W. The lessons are to informative, very boring, doesn’t interest the students. Besides, they don’t gives us any trips, maybe once or twice but not above.
