I wish I could give more than 5 stars. It’s almost not enough to accurately describe how much I adore, appreciate and recommend Little Tykes. From Paula the absolutely incredible owner and director, who puts her heart and soul into every detail from hiring, to special events, to the activity tables…To the amazing teachers and helpers who in every class room have impacted my daughter in such wonderful ways. They are so creative, nurturing and impactful. And Ms. Lisa, and her ability to connect with children through cooking, mealtime, and food. She is an absolute blessing. I think it speaks volumes for a daycare/preschool when you go to pick your child up early and there are multiple parents waiting because the kids refuse to leave until the activity or story is over because they are having so much fun, and this happens routinely. Academics, Experiments, Art, Music, Creative Play, my daughter loves to learn, and I contribute so much of that to the fun environment at school. Then from working on biting in the toddler room, to potty training, to celebrating giving up her binky, to learning boundaries of not kissing her best boy friend, we have been through it all. Little Tykes is truly family and we are so blessed because of it.
Taking our kids to Little Tykes was one of the best decisions that we have ever made. From day one they made us feel like family. The staff not only cared for our children, they loved them and supported them (and us) through all the stages. Paula M. owns AND teaches at the daycare, and it’s so obvious that she loves what she does. There are several teachers that have made such an impact on our lives that we will never forget them. It really is a family atmosphere which is exactly what we were looking for, and I never worried about my children when they were in LT’s hands. The education was also phenomenal - my kids learned so much and were more than ready for school when it came time. The teachers were able to get them interested in several different subjects with all of the fun activities that they planned! The food is also fabulous and worth every penny. My kids still talk about it, and we remain on the list for home cooked dinners. Lisa is an amazing cook, and she has some sort of magic because she was able to get my two picky eaters to try and enjoy so many different things! She was also very accommodating with my daughter’s dairy allergy. We were at Little Tykes for 11 years with 3 kids, and leaving was bittersweet. My oldest started at age 3, and I had two others that attended from 3 months through preschool. If you are looking for a center that will take great care of your children, help them grow, and prepare them for the future, look no further!
Little Tykes Learning Center is more than a daycare, they are like family to me. Both of our boys absolutely loved going to school everyday. Mrs. Paula, Mrs. Jodi, Miss Sarah and all of the Little Tykes teachers take such great care of all the children they are entrusted with. They go above and beyond making children feel welcome and providing a safe and secure environment to help foster growth and learning. Mrs. Paula even potty trained my eldest son! I couldn't have done it without her!
The Little Tykes Learning Centers in Portage (Located at E. Centre and Valleywood) are staples of the community. Paula, the owner, has built an incredible environment for little people to be enriched and encouraged in a clean and safe environment where they are treated like family. Truly a God-sent. If you need quality child care, this is the only place to enroll.
We absolutely love Little Tykes! All of the staff are great with the kids and our kids always get excited to go to every morning! We have had all 3 kids there. Two are now in elementary and we still our 7 month old there. It’s more than just a daycare, they learn, play and are just loved! As a previous CPS worker it was hard for me to trust centers and people in general to watch our kids, but I have never felt hesitant or worried leaving our children in their care for the day! That is a great feeling! I would 100% recommend this learning center to anyone!
