My daughter has been at this daycare for a little over a year. As a a teacher and educator myself, I am very happy with the care and education my daughter is receiving at Little Miracles. We are so lucky to have found Ms. Carla. As a new mom and coming out of the pandemic, I was more than anxious to send my little one to a daycare. Little Miracles has been wonderful for my daughter and for our family. When we were first looking for daycare centers, we were struggling to find a center that we could afford and one that had room. Within an hour of contacting Ms. Carla that first summer, we were able to hear back from her and schedule an appointment to see the facility. At the time, we needed to tour while there were no kids there (of course due to the pandemic), but we were so thrilled by how our daughter took to Ms. Carla. When our daughter started, Ms. Carla assured us that our little one was happy and cared for by sending picture updates and all the fun little crafts home. She was active, learning, and playing. Our little pandemic baby was so fulfilled. The curriculum is rigorous and keeps our little one always coming home with new things she has learned. For a day care, the learning is age appropriate and challenging. Along with all the crafts, ABCs, counting, now days of the week and months have been taught to my daughter (she astounds me every week by the new things she is learning) - Ms. Carla is the one who potty trained my baby and helped us follow the routine at home. Without her, I have no idea how I would have done it. Seriously, she knows kids and she is the professional. Ms. Carla has been steadfast with her Covid protocols and this has helped her daycare stay safe and clean for all kids. The center is much smaller than other comparable centers which is best for our daughter. Ms. Carla and her team is attentive, caring, and treats all kids like her own. As a family, we deeply appreciate her service, her love towards our little butterfly, and her guidance and grace for us as new parents to support us in this journey together.
Our child was at this daycare for 6 months and it was quite the learning experience. Don't be fooled by all the good reviews. This is our first child and our first daycare experience. Now I try to be fair, so I will say that most of the time the owner, Mrs. Carla (MC), had a pleasant disposition. And while her daycare wasn't a long term solution for our 18-month-old son, we decided to support her and her business. As parents, in addition to positive reviews for a daycare you may also want a caring and stimulating environment. While we were allowed to come in to the "facility" once, as opposed to many other daycares that were more welcoming and open, we couldn't speak to how stimulating the environment was. A few photos sent home showed our son looking bored a lot. The curriculum was a secret as well. I tried asking for it, but I'd get inconsistent responses or vague statements. Unfortunately, we had no idea what he was learning and thus couldn't reinforce much at home. When we first met her, she told us that there would be 4 workers there, but in the 6 months we only saw 2, herself included, for a group of maybe 10-15. Had we known the teacher/student ratio would be this big, we never would've agreed. My son was injured on her property on 2 occasions. In both cases, he was running and fell. What's odd about this is that when we would come to pick him up she'd stop him from running as if she were concerned about his safety, yet on multiple occasions she allowed him to run on a concrete sidewalk all the while knowing that he had a tendency to fall. When we brought this to her attention, she basically shrugged and said something like "kids get hurt". I do know this is true as we've seen our son get hurt while actively watching him. However, we go out of our way to try to prevent future occurrences, which we didn't see from MC. In fact, she was defensive, showed no empathy despite being a mother herself, and blatantly asked us "what's your point?" when we were asking her how this could happen. Unfortunately, we felt our child was no longer in an environment where we could expect the workers to try to keep him safe. There were other examples of behavior that spoke to negligence on her part. Our son has asthma and MC assured us that she could give him his medicine properly, she didn't despite being given written instructions. She didn't know how to work an inhaler despite all assurances to the contrary. We disclosed that our son has eczema and his skin is very sensitive. That didn't stop her from deciding, on her own, to put unapproved medication on his skin without first seeking our consent. Lastly, you want established policies and consistent rules. Tuition rates are not posted and everyone doesn't pay the same fee even if the children are the same age. It's whatever she chooses. At the beginning of September, we had to provide our son with various school supplies. When we pulled him from the daycare, a month later, she initially tried to keep his supplies despite his name being on them. She seemed surprised that we would insist on getting these brand-new supplies, many of which had yet to be opened. I guess she wanted to keep them for her own use. Also, daycare providers are supposed to write up an incident report when your child is hurt on their property and while in their care. After the first fall, no incident report was written. After the second fall, we did request a report and discovered that not only should we have gotten reports for both incidents, but it's the owner's responsibility to report these incidents to the county. MC did not strike us as the kind of person that is very professional and consistent. We scratch our head on these reviews and have assumed that people have either allowed her to get away with her lackadaisical attitude, or they just trusted her. Her prices are cheap; we were quoted $475/week when we first started looking; which later turned into $525/week when we decided to send our child there. The point here is that you get what you pay for, so beware!
Best decision I made for my baby! Ms. Carla is so attentive to all of the children and communication is consistent! My 1-year old knows how to use the “potty”, thanks to Ms. Carla! She can identify objects, colors, numbers and her alphabet letters with the curriculum that is being used with the children. I never have an issue with her at all, my child’s father and myself visited two facilities before coming to Ms. Carla and my child did not cling to any of the providers until we met her in person. The environment is like home, sanitized, she makes sure she takes precautions when it comes to the children well being most importantly. Ms. Carla and the children are well-mannered always. Communication is never an issue with her. The connection she has with my daughter is brilliant! Coming to Little Miracles was a breath of fresh air as well as an answered prayer, my baby loves Ms. Carla and so do I! I walked in with the intent of having my child enrolled long term and that still stands. Excellent, excellent, fantastic staff at the facility! She sends photos of the activities my daughter is engaging in and explains what she is learning very detailed. It has been times where I have lacked having change of clothes or shoes accidentally and of course Ms. Carla had something to make sure my baby was comfortable and warm, that is rare! That always meant a lot but also made me realize that she actually cares about the children. Any questions I have she answers them. I was recently in a car accident and she still genuinely checked on my baby and made sure she was okay! I appreciate for everything she does! I recommend 100% for anyone looking for child care! My daughter always looks forward to going to “school”
Our son has been going to Little Miracles for 3 years now and we could not be more grateful to Ms. Carla for all she's done for our little guy. She has gone above and beyond as both a caregiver and teacher. It may not have all the bells & whistles of some other child care options out there, but our kid is incredibly well cared for and loved there. I recommend Little Miracles to every parent whose looking for a great spot they can trust to bring their little ones.
Both of my kids attended this childcare here. My oldest grew up in carla’s care and she, s had my youngest as soon as my 6 weeks was up from hiving birth. The curriculum is awesome by the time mu oldest was ready to attend school he was ahead of the other kids. We still keep in touch and little miracles and Carla will always be family.
