***THIS IS LONG BUT READ PLEASE*** I am writing this review as a mother who went through one of the most stressful and painful school experiences I’ve ever had, specifically involving my son’s former teacher, Mrs. Pastoriza, and the principal, Mrs. Clark. I truly hope no other family has to go through what we did. When my son first started at KCA, things were wonderful. His early teachers, especially Mrs. Watson, were caring, supportive, and genuinely invested in his growth. But everything changed the moment my son entered Mrs. Pastoriza’s class — a teacher who, in my experience, seemed to have an issue with my son before she ever taught him. She would regularly comment on his behavior while he was in another teacher’s class, and every time I checked with that teacher, I was told my son was doing fine and that any concerns were being handled appropriately. But the following year, when he finally entered Mrs. Pastoriza’s classroom, my son and I lived a nightmare I will never forget. The level of negativity and criticism he received every single day was overwhelming. It felt like nothing he did was ever good enough. At one point, I was called into a meeting because my son was “too imaginative.” And the most shocking and infuriating moment of all was when Mrs. Pastoriza told my kindergartener that he needed “the little blue pill” to be a good boy because he was bad and didn’t listen. No child should ever be spoken to that way. Ever. Things only got worse when Mrs. Clark stepped in as principal. By first grade, the pressure, the constant letters home, and the nonstop meetings became unbearable. I felt pushed into pursuing ADHD medication for my son. I took him to three different doctors, each of whom told me he did not need medication. One even asked why I seemed so determined to diagnose him, and I broke down crying in that office because I wasn’t — the school was pressuring me into it. The doctors wrote a letter explaining that my son did not need ADHD medication and suggested simple accommodations, like letting him move around after finishing his work (since he often worked faster than other students). When I handed that note to Mrs. Clark, I will never forget the cold, dismissive way she read it and replied: “I’ve never heard of a doctor refusing to medicate a child.” Not “I’m glad he’s okay.” Not “Thank you for getting him evaluated.” Just disbelief that a doctor wouldn’t medicate my child. It was in that moment I realized how little they cared about my son as a person. They even stripped him of honor roll all year, despite being academically strong, simply because he didn’t meet their behavioral standards. I finally pulled him out and enrolled him at Southland Christian School, and the transformation in my son’s happiness, confidence, and emotional well-being has been everything I hoped for. He is still a straight A student. He is still energetic and talkative. But now he has teachers who love their students, guide them with patience, and actually believe in them. They teach morals, values, acceptance, and compassion — things KCA failed to show us. If you are considering Kissimmee Christian Academy, please think twice. If your child doesn’t fit their strict, unrealistic, “cookie-cutter” mold, they will make your life miserable. They will single your child out, label them, and pressure you in ways no parent should ever have to experience.
As a mom, I was very nervous about sending my son to school for the first time but I couldn't be happier with our experience! From the very first day, my son absolutely loved the school, especially his teacher. The staff is warm, welcoming, and professional, and the quality of education is outstanding. The materials and resources they use are excellent, and I’ve seen real progress in my child already. I’m so thankful we found this school. It has been a wonderful start to our family’s journey in education!
My son experienced sexual harassment from two other students, which left him feeling unsafe and unwilling to return to school. As a result, I made the decision to withdraw both him and his brother. Despite multiple attempts to follow up, I have not received any report regarding the school’s investigation, whether it was reported to the state, or what the outcome of the investigation was.
For all the parents who are reading this, I was a student at Kissimmee Christian Academy. If you’re thinking of attending your child to this academy, I would recommend it 100%. Your child will make amazing and long-lasting relationships with other students and teachers. The school and teachers are very supportive and understanding; the students are very kind and funny. KCA has also helped me get closer to God and shape my worldview. I miss going to this school so much. Thank you, KCA, for making who I am and who I will be. Thank you, Mrs. Clark. You’re the most outstanding principal I’ve ever seen.
I absolutely love this school my kids were transferred from charter last year , this is my first year completed with KCA and let me tell you I saw a complete change in my kids grades a month in . The teacher are well prepared and organized , the communication is exceptional. This is what a school should be. I was nervous after reading some of these comments when enrolling my kids but thank god the comments did not sway my decision. The kids love the staff and especially Mrs.Clark . She is a straight forward principal and she does an exceptional job at running this school , the kids tell me how fun and warm she is with all the kids . Think about a small tight knit school . Classrooms are not packed with kids and thats why kids can get a better outcome. What made me confortable from the start was speaking with the parents thru out the year a knowing their kids have been there since little , none could give me any complaints . Car like is not a headache . They use the Abeka curriculum and let me tell you its way more advance than what we were used to however its has been a breeze for me as their mom and them also their is lots of support for the teachers if you are looking for torturing and staff. Many extra curricular activities to keep the kids busy. When we had school events like History expo’s and Science every time we attend it we would be blown away all of the kids creativity. I cant say enough amazing things about this school I feel it does not get enough flowers. Please seek a tour of this school talk with the principal Mrs.Clark and you will see the comments seem out of place . May I not forget to mention my daughter preformed a solo at their Spring Festival and I cried seeing how she preform in front of the whole school after the guidance she received from her music teacher. Thank you KCA for giving us another home where my kids are getting the best education and principals. A special thank you to the teachers especially my favorite Mrs. Rodriguez , Mrs Clark and staff . You rock Mrs.Clark !!!
