What Parents Say
Happy Days Day Care & Preschool receives mostly positive reviews praising the caring staff, accommodating management, and supportive environment for child development. However, two serious 1-star reviews raise concerns about management behavior, inadequate supervision, and a child injury incident that resulted in a Child Detectives investigation.
My 3 year old and I LOVE Happy Days. My boy has really blossomed and it's thanks to the amazing teachers and aides that work here. The only reason we are leaving is because we are moving. If I could move the whole center with me, I would I have nothing but praise for the center director, Ashley, and the people she surrounds our kids with. It's an incredible place to entrust with my son. We have special dietary restrictions and everyone was super accommodating, as well. Every issue I thought would be a big deal is not. Ashley is super communicative and friendly!
Our son was one of the first children at Happy Days - that was 7 years ago - and we cannot say enough about this wonderful place! Our first daycare center turned out to be a disaster and my wife was forced to stay home from work until we found Tracy and Happy Days! Our son considered Happy Days his second home for many years and made so many wonderful friendships (some that still exist today) while he attended Happy Days. If you are looking for a place that is much more than just a daycare center in Ypsilanti you should look no further than Happy Days! Highly Recommended!!
We have been so pleased with Happy Days! They take great care of my 10 month old, do lots of art work and story times, and are all super nice people. They are very accommodating with his breastmilk and baby led weaning diet. My son has so much fun playing with the other kids and loves his teachers!
When my child started here it was really great, but within 6 months the manager, Sue, was treating her very badly. DD had started biting and being aggressive. I was convinced that 2 year old was outrageously aggressive and having mental health issues. Sue would say things to me like "If I don't make her cry I'm not getting through to her" or "I had to grab her face to make her pay attention" or "She just doesn't have good days". My child was also constantly sick. I tried to discuss particular things that caretakers could do to reduce aggressive behaviors but those were ignored. As it turns out, the things provoking aggressive behavior were lack of stimulation for an intelligent child, lack of attention, high rate of staff turnover and aggressive/negative behavior from the manager. We have changed daycare centers and she's been at her new facility for 3 months now. She's flourishing and hasn't had a single aggressive incident.
I am a foster parent, and needed emergent placement for a 2-month-old and they worked with me on very short notice to find a place for baby. I can't speak highly enough about this place, they are wonderful.
