What Parents Say
Henry Ford Early Learning Center has a highly divided reputation. While several parents praise the special education (ECSE) program, staff responsiveness, and Spanish immersion offerings, multiple parents report serious safety concerns including unexplained injuries to their children, inadequate supervision, and unresponsive staff.
Amazing ECSE program, son was diagnosed with ASD. They collaborate with parents and other professionals to create a realistic and achievable IEP plan for your child.
The staff was nice, but that is not enough. I don’t understand how no one could ever tell me what happened to my child that day. How my son would return home with injuries or scars that no one was aware or how they happened and who caused them. I don’t think they should have that many students if they do not have the adequate staff to look out for them. It is not safe. The two years that my son was in attendance (pre-k and k), he had 5 different teachers. I reported what I knew and confronted the teachers and leadership, but apparently it was always outside of their control and there were empty promises to do better. That is just not acceptable. I appreciate their program and what they wish to do for the kids, but I could no longer trust my child with their school system. Moral of my review: be very careful on where you send your kids to school. With the amount of neglect and abuse that happened under the staff, I do not wish that experience on any parent or their child. If you have the means to send your child to a safer school, do so.
Our son has attended Ford since Pre-K 3 and is now in the Spanish Immersion K class. We moved here from Dallas with an IEP and had a seamless transition. The teachers and staff are very supportive and responsive, they communicate regularly, address our concerns w our child quickly and have continued to make improvements to the technology. I really enjoy this school and am glad we chose those school.
Our daughter is in the spanish immersion program there and so far it has been very impressive. In our experience the staff here are giving full effort and have good communication with parents. They could probably use more funding and more teachers but I could say that about every public school.
My grandson went to pre k and his experience was not a good one. Each time we talked to the school about constant marks on him, no one ever had an answer or never seen anything. The only thing they care about is your child staying at their school and making excuse's. He is a non verbal child and would be sat out of events constantly. He screamed and asked not to go back but my daughter was told that they would pay better attention. That didn’t happen it actually got worse. Funny thing is we went to Coney across from the Little Caesar and Hungry Howie’s and the cook that works there told us that she had the same experience with her child marks and bruises and her child is Autistic. This is the worst school your child will be abused if they have any kind of special needs and when you talk to the teacher she will act as if your child is the problem and get irritated like you’re wrong for asking. I have picture but other children are in it so I can’t share it. If you read the other reviews you’ll see this is a on going issue at this school. Please is excuse my writing I’m upset and maybe misspelling words or not putting periods in the right place. Also pay attention that the good reviews are all from 4 days ago
