I remember my dad bringing me here when I was 8 and I’m 30 now. From time to time I think about times over here as a kid. That’s how you can tell it was memorable . A lot of activities the staff was very caring 22 years ago and met some friends that I wish we all kept in contact…
I had a wonderful time with the people from the Monterey Twin buildings n Monterey Day meaning 2 buildings. Maintaining the property is Not being done. Everything is filthy, weeds growing 5-7 feet tall, the asphalt in the court yard is All cracked and lifted, there are very dangerous walking and playground conditions, No Playground, No Black rubber ground protection for children it is all worn away down to the blue under padding with weeds growing through it, trash all around the rock foundations, stench of urine and no signs of disinfectant and bleach eer being used in the hallway. New Management Sucks. NYCHA Does Not Own this property anymore. It looks like it has not had construction or renovations for 30 Years. That is how delapadated the property is. So disturbingly unkept.
Very good apartment. there is some sweet group of young men called the “reyway”. here’s a tip if u scream free dthang and every flocka shot they will give you such a good gift. i’m still trying figure out what doing the “bunny hop is” but for some reason the “reyway” group doesn’t like a place called Rpt. long story short i did the “bunny hop” because they told me now i don’t live there.
It's open late and provides a little bit of something for all ages. They have special events from time to time all centered around community info and building. The staff is young and teens hang out here. Seniors are welcomed and they have free computer classes for those not so tech savvy. They have a variety of classes for everyone. They are a Good Shepherd progrom.
