What Parents Say
Covenant Christian Child Care receives highly polarized reviews. Positive reviews praise the Christian education, caring teachers, strong staff-to-child ratios, and personal attention. However, multiple negative reviews report serious safety concerns including inadequate supervision, unreported incidents, head injuries, and staff communication failures.
If you value your children's safety, do not send them here. My child went here for 5 days and we had an incident every single day. Some were communicated to us, but most were not. Day 1 he got bit. Day 2 scratch on his arm that no one knew about. Day 3 he fell out of the chair at the lunch table and hit his head - they let him go nap 20 minutes after this. When asked if he wiggled out or was trying to climb out, I got the response "I don't think he was trying to climb out", Day 4 he came home with a deep cut UNDERNEATH his sock... there was no blood on his sock. No one knew about this incident. Day 5 he came home with a huge bruise on the side of his face and a scratch on his face. Again, another incident no one knew about. I had to ask for incident reports to made for me. There was little to no communication. Apparently they "consolidate" rooms in the afternoon to send staff home and to stay in ratio however, there is no tracking of what teachers are where. When I called the director about the bruise, she was asking around to see what time one teacher left out and what teacher was in there after. You never know who may be taking care of your child that day, or who may pop in or out. We went there for a week giving chance after chance and the issues only got worse. The last day I picked my child up, when I walked into the room, a couple babies were sitting by the door crying and the teacher was on the opposite side of the room with her back turned. It was a week from HELL. The director did say that she was addressing the issues but we did not feel comfortable leaving our child in the care of these people for one more second. This place needs to be deeply investigated. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or give this place your money.
My son has been going here for nearly 2 years & it has been so wonderful. All of the teachers & admin are great. Know every single child by name and always make it a point to say hello even if it’s just for a second. This location is a tad out of the way in our commute to work but I refuse to change daycares because of how wonderful they treat my son. It’s not everyday you find a daycare you truly trust with your child. Thank you to everyone at Edge!!!!
My son went there as a baby/toddler and I did not have any issues. My issue started with them after my son graduated from the Pre-K program at the Academy. For almost 5 years we were led to believe that they picked up from Springdale Elementary School (.8 miles away) for an after school program. Jackie and Krista, who manage the Child Care, originally told us when we signed him up for the child care that they picked up from Springdale. In the 5 years we were there there was NO notice/update that they no longer picked up from Springdale due to construction that was completed over a year ago. After leaving several messages and talking to teachers at the academy (who said they picked up from Springdale), I was told by both Jackie and Krista they didn't pick up from Springdale anymore BUT picked up from 3 difference schools (the farthest school being about 15 minutes away). Jackie and Krista acted very unprofessional about the situation. They need to work on communication skills. For a business that wants to grow the child care and academy you would think they would pick up from a school .8 miles away in which the majority of the Pre-K kids go to once K5 starts. It's a shame because I would never recommend any one to use them even though they teach the kids about God.
My son has attended the Childcare and Pre-School since his infancy in the winter of 2010. He loves all the teachers and the friends he has made over the years. Now he goes every summer because he refuses to attend anywhere else. Even though he missed summer of 2020 because of COVID, we plan to let him go back in 2021.
I do not recommend this place! My little one started right after he turned 1 year old. They had him in the infant room. They said since he was bigger than the babies and they didn't want the babies to get hurt, they would put my son in a crib by himself with toys and leave him there. One morning in the toddler room, he fell asleep at the table and fell on the tile floor from a chair. He hit his head and got a big bump on his head. After that, he fell in the toddler classroom hitting his mouth on the floor. He ended up having to go to the emergency room and getting a doctor to surgically remove a piece of skin inside his mouth from in between his two front teeth. There is no supervision at this place. My son went there for less than 2 months before I took him out and took him somewhere else. Do not take your children here. They do nothing when a child gets hurt beside TLC and Prayer. They let my child bleed for 2 hours after he hit his mouth because it was naptime!
