Very kind and helpful staff. My mother receives their services and I am grateful to them for everything they do for her. She obtained her citizenship with their help, she was able to get social security benefits arranged. Very knowledgeable staff in several fields.
Catholic Charities Community Access Food Pantry runs every Wednesday from 4PM to 5PM (if I'm not mistaken). The staff are friendly and the produce and items provided to grateful weekly individuals is fulsome and nutritional with focus on nutritional health. This service is a Godsend! ππΎ
This site has helped many people, but it's always very difficult to contact the people who work there. If anyone from this agency can see this message, please update the 10-hour OSHA information in the system, as this is causing problems for day laborers.
To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my disappointment with the assistance I received regarding my rent arrears at your establishment, 34 West 134th Street. I believed Catholic Charities was dedicated to helping people, but my experience proved otherwise. I had an appointment on Tuesday, April 8th, and was asked to provide specific documents. I brought all the necessary paperwork and met with a staff member who took copies of my papers. She told me someone would contact me within four to five business days, but mentioned they were swamped and requested my patience. After waiting a week without a response, I reached out again. I waited another week, but still heard nothing. I then attempted to contact the person I met with, but received no answer, so I left a voicemail. I called every day until my follow-up appointment on Tuesday, May 6th, at 11:00 AM, which was supposed to be a phone call. To my surprise, she answered that day but still hadnβt returned any of my previous voicemails. During our call, she asked how things were going, and I was taken aback because things were not progressing. I explained that I had not heard back from anyone. She then asked if I had contacted the individuals whose information she had provided. I was confused since she never gave me any contact information. I calmly pointed this out, but her response was hostile as she stated that Catholic Charities had no funds to assist me. Feeling defeated, I wished her a lovely day and hung up. If I had known that assistance was unavailable, I would have refrained from wasting my time and hers. I am very disappointed by how this situation was handled. Despite reaching out several times, no one from Catholic Charities has returned my calls. As a result, I will be sharing my experience in a review.
