Calumet City Kids Academy LLC

I was one of those parents that was scared to send my kids to daycare because you hear horror stories. I love this facility! Everyone I've encountered is pleasant. My kids teacher, Ms Maria is great with my boys. My kids say they like her! The facility is clean and my kids come home clean which is a plus. They don't get annoyed when I call to check on them. They also have an open door policy for parents that like to pop in like I do. I don't qualify for childcare assistance the rates are fare. $165 per child a week isn't bad at all.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE. My nephew with special needs was enrolled here and the staff ESPECIALLY management is extremely unprofessional and rude. They hire anyone off the street to deal with their children. They did anything to get my nephew to go home early especially calling home about a “running nose” which we had documentation showing he has seasonal allergies. Took him to get several COVID tests and all were negative. They clearly are lacking in several areas especially hiring real daycare teachers with experience in dealing with all the children. Another incident i witnessed was a young teacher roughly handling children. As i picked My nephew up everyday i caught her being rough with him as well. By rough i mean dragging him to the door and pushing him towards the glass window like he was trash. He almost hit his face on the glass but another staff caught him before he did. After watching what she did all they did was “talk to her”. She wasn’t suspended or even fired.Please don’t send your babies here. If this had zero stars i would have put that. The director that is in charge clearly is uneducated, definitely unprofessional, and has no idea about childcare. Sadly this place has went downhill with this new management and adding on under qualified teachers.

DO NOT send your child here. My baby went here for two days. On the second day when I picked him up he had a swollen bruised lip. And no one could tell me what happened to him. And this was in the infant class. It took the owner two days to tell me what the heck happened only for him to say they didn’t see anything on the camera. They tried to cover it up by bringing my baby out sucking his pacifier but I’m glad I took it out before we had left. They hadn’t even done an incident report.

I witnessed the older lady with blonde, short hair being Very Rude and Hostile to the kids on multiple occasions!! These babies are only 4 or 5!! I would Never send my baby with someone with such little care and so much aggression! She would rather gossip with the other adults rather than truly care for these babies. So if you have a child/ children attending here and they come home sad or down, this is why!

Stay away from this daycare. When I picked my son I had to ask what’s wrong with him, he didn’t act like his self.I had to take my child out here when i found out they refused to give him his bottle when he was not taking a different cup. When I got him he was so hungry and crying on his top of lungs that I never heard him cry like that. The owner didn’t care to resolve the problem, I won’t want a daycare run by this man who clearly don’t care for kids. Just a money hunger business.
