Out of all the locations THIS rec center is the absolute best. I have a lot of anxiety and been thru a lot of trauma in my life, this is the only spot that “feels” like an actual rec center like when i was a kid. A home away from home, judgment free, a peace and a place to get away and center yourself. Everyone there is nice and the staff don’t bother you but yet they’re friendly. I absolutely love this place. Of all the locations i feel most happiest and safe and at peace when i’m here❤️🥳🙏🏼

Employees and David Green supervisor is rude and attack members who work together enforcing a fake policy of “perception”. A friend asked for emotional support and to share knowledge on using gym equipment - and I was accused of being a “coach” which I explained I was not- I was just a friend helping a friend. He continues to accuse me of being a coach answering “well it’s about perception”. No- that’s not a written policy. He didn’t care about written policy. Written policy defines a coach/trainer as certified trainer being paid and training a client without the approval of the rec center. That IS policy- NOT ‘perception’ - yet now I am “prohibited to return to the location” due to a power tripping supervisor and their employees working off PERCEPTION. Let’s not permit these employees to continue abuse their power and treat us like this. I’m calling out the director of the rec center to address this issue and appropriately enforce written policy- which PERCEPTION is NOT written policy. David Green should NOT be supervisor and enforcing FAKE policy. Read the other reviews below 👇 multiple complaints on rude staff and multiple complaints identifying a consistent and signifiant issue on employees not knowing or understanding the policy and regulations! 👇 Maybe because it has to do with leadership enforcing MADE UP policy which is NOT written policy. Let’s make a change! 🙌 do better Bow Creek 🙌

Bow Creek Recreation Center Basketball Hoops Unrepaired for Over 2 Months For over two months, indoor basketball hoops at Bow Creek Recreation Center in Virginia Beach have remained broken. Staff repeatedly give excuses and false promises of “next week,” yet no repairs are made. Hundreds of paying members are unable to use the facility we fund with expensive annual fees. Where is our membership money going? This ongoing neglect is unacceptable. I demand an immediate investigation by the City of Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Department and full repairs within 7 days. Until resolved, I will continue exposing this issue online to protect consumer rights.

So I've been coming to the rec center all summer long. Its the beginning of August. I'm trying to come to the rec enter with my granddaughter and they are denying us entry. When I came here earlier in the summer, they told me not to renew her membership because she had a after school membership. We came into the rec center today and the manager Chris is now all of a sudden acting like we can't come in the pool because her membership isnt valid until the 25th. She advised I need to get her a day pass. I think Virginia Beach Parks &rec need to get their information straight. We have been tonthis very pool at least 3 time since i was to this when I renewed my membership. They held us at the front for 30 minutes then said they would let us in this time, but i would beed to pay for her entry until the 25th.I asked why? I attempted to pay for her to get a membership earlier in June and they told me not to pay for one because I could use the after school membership they were now denying me usage of. Then another manager John interrupted our pool time to reiterate this to me. I told him to leave us alone they had taken up enough of our time at the front desk.

Old lady kicked me out during school hours because apparently you aren’t allowed to be there as a teen when school is in session, I’ve been there multiple times during school. Went to Kempsville rec and they didn’t care at all
