The YMCA at Strandwood is the absolute best. The director is proactive, communicative, and very concerned about my child's wellbeing. If my daughter doesn't show up within a few minutes of getting out of school, she calls to make sure she is where she needs to be (usually I forgot to tell them about a relative picking her up). They have lots of activities for the kids, help with homework, and provide morning and afternoon snacks. For homework, they will even set up a plan with the parent so the child has to complete what is agreed upon which takes away a fight after a long day of work. The staff and teachers are so friendly and caring. My daughter has so many of the teachers there that she feels safe and comfortable with and they've taught her so many things. As another bonus, they recently updated their registration process and it is so much more user friendly. Instead of filling out the same paperwork each year, you just review the information to make sure it's correct, and click a button.
