We are so pleased with Walnut Grove Academy. I was initially very hesitant to enroll my son in any form of day care, but Midlothian ISD doesn’t have a tuition based prek4 program and after my son went to prek3 via our old school district, he would been so upset to stay at home until kindergarten. So we took a chance - and I’m so glad we did. My son loves this school. He wakes up some times on the weekends asking if it’s a school day, and then gets upset if we tell him no. He loves his teacher (shoutout to Miss Taylor). He loves everything about being there. From an educational standpoint, he seems to be learning a lot too. He has been doing 50 piece puzzles and whenever I ask him what letter something is, he seems to know them all (upper and lowercase). It also seems like he’s starting to pick up some sight words. Mel and Amber are great, too. I misunderstood something when we first enrolled my son, and I appreciated how professionally the situation was addressed when I brought it up. TLDR: This place has been the perfect home away from home for my kiddo.
We absolutely LOVE Walnut Grove Academy. We had never been to another daycare prior to starting here and I was very skeptical of taking my one year old somewhere but I'm so glad we found this place. The owners Mel and Amber are so great and everyone treats the kids like their own. We get constant updates of how our toddler is doing in class, which is a big plus! The facility is VERY clean, and looks updated in all the rooms. And our daughter loves her teacher Ms.Sydney! She learns something new daily and has progressed in speech and motor skills since being here. Would recommend to anyone wanting a safe and loving childcare facility ❤️
New management has brought upon a lot of new upgrades features to the daycare like the painting on the outside and a new fridge. Just to name a few. They also did a huge deep clean and you could tell the difference. Everyone even before Change was friendly and loving of my son. Very happy to be able to work and know he is taken care of!
We love walnut grove academy! We were about ready to find a new daycare for our baby, but since the new owners have taken over I have nothing but great things to say!! My daughter loves going to school and learning new things, and the teachers are amazing! 10/10!⭐️
Walnut Grove Academy has been an absolute blessing for our family! My daughter’s teachers, Ms. Vickie and Ms. Toni, love her like she’s their own, and the care and attention they give her mean the world to us. It is hard for any parent to leave their kid, but as a first time mom, I know my girl is in great hands with them. The Director, Ms. Melody, runs the day to day of WGA with such heart and professionalism—it’s clear she truly cares about every child, family, and staff member here. The facility is always spotless, which gives me so much peace of mind as a parent. The communication is excellent; I’m always kept informed about my daughter’s day and any updates. I also love seeing the engaging activities the older children are working on—it’s inspiring to know that as my daughter grows, she’ll continue to thrive in this nurturing and stimulating environment. We feel so blessed to have Walnut Grove Academy as a part of our lives, and I can’t recommend them highly enough!
