I rated it 3 stars to get someone's attention. Do you accept clothes for women? I have a closet full of new or slightly used clothes that I grew out of (gained weight) before I got to wear.
This place is sad . My family and I came with our 2 kids and my wife is pregnant. One of the case workers and the staff said wait here until we get a response back from the owner . We waited for 4 hours because she was in a meeting. It was 4pm and we were told since there’s no response we have to leave . Advised us they don’t want to pull off the list out of order , but we know multiple people that currently did the same thing we did and go help . I’m lost of words DONT know what to do . We have no where to go and as a shelter we can’t get anything . Not even an emergency room . Just complete turn a family away .
My 2 daughters and I had stayed at VC from November 2020, until January 2021. It was a decent experience for us, until I had to send my youngest daughter (who was 2 at the time) away to her father due to the stress that VC’s in house childcare center’s staff had caused her. :( If you have a special needs child who has some behavioral/developmental challenges I suggest to look elsewhere for childcare (especially those who can handle special needs children), and not utilize VC’s childcare center because the workers, and director there doesn’t have your child’s best interest at heart if they have extra challenges that come with them. I wasn’t so fond of the childcare director much, I had a bad vibe from her. One of the shelter workers named Jose was the most realist, kind and understanding person I’ve met. I could tell that he cared about the residents at VC and wasn’t there for a just a check like the rest of the staff in my opinion were. Now, we’re in a much better situation and doing well! Overall, their childcare center (when it comes to special needs children) is pure and vile trash in my opinion!
You guys don’t answer your phone or your door. Me and my daughter have sleeping in the car for a while and you guys still have no reach out or called me back!
This program LITERALLY saved my family. Allowed me the resources (child care, shelter and even food) the units are roomy and clean. You have the privacy of a townhouse and the staff are awesoms. There are clothing rooms, PCH shuttles come by once a week for pediatric needs if needed. A decent early development center for toddlers and a cool playground. It had been a blessing when we needed it and i will always be greatful for all the help they offer. If your willing to put in the work they are willing to help you as much as possible. Good job Vista Colina.
