What Parents Say
Tutor Time Learning New Hyde Park receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from most parents, with many reporting significant developmental gains, stable staff, and thoughtful programming over years of enrollment. However, one parent experienced staff indifference, poor communication, concerning behavioral changes in their child, and felt the pricing was excessive.
My toddler has been going to Tutor Time for 2months and she is a completely different kid. She more independent, engaged and talking more. I can’t thank enough the teachers and team at the toddlers room to make the transition so smooth for my baby and I. I am so appreciative of all the staff for all the love and care they give to all these kids every day. This team of amazing human beings are doing a job I couldn’t think of doing myself all day. They are creating a safe place for these little ones to grow and learn. They have all my support and respect!
DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!! Unfortunately, the management seems to prioritize profit over the well-being of both the children and the staff. One of the most concerning issues is the way they put teachers in difficult positions. By allowing too many children to be supervised by a single teacher, they are not only breaking their own policies but also compromising the quality of care and attention each child deserves. This is especially troubling when some of the children have special needs or behavioral issues that require extra support. Moreover, the treatment of staff at Tutor Time is appalling. The teachers and assistants are dedicated and do their best under challenging circumstances, yet they are often left feeling undervalued and unsupported. Management seems to ignore their concerns, which creates a stressful environment that ultimately affects the children. Another major issue is the lack of accountability for parents regarding their children's behavior. Instead of addressing these issues, management often places the burden on the teachers, who are already stretched thin. It’s disheartening to see the staff working tirelessly while parents are not held responsible for their children's actions. In summary, Tutor Time needs to reevaluate its management practices and put the welfare of both children and staff first. Until changes are made, I cannot recommend this daycare to other parents seeking a nurturing and supportive environment for their children.
My daughter attended this daycare for about seven months, and I found the experience lacking. The staff were often indifferent and unengaged. If you didn’t initiate communication, they wouldn’t interact with you. The application they used to communicate with parents seemed to rely on generic, copy-pasted feedback, and the information about my daughter’s activities and interactions was repetitive and unhelpful. My daughter lost weight while attending Tutor Time and would come home starving. I often had to stop for food on the way home or have something prepared for her. She was unhappy and cried when I dropped her off, which was uncharacteristic of her. Since switching to a new daycare, she’s thriving and has explicitly said she doesn’t want to return to tutor time but does say her best teacher is Ms. Katherine which is no longer there🤔 Ms.Dona is nice and loving also! I made an effort to keep the peace because I didn’t want my complaints to negatively impact my daughter. However, she expressed a dislike for the library, which was troubling since it’s supposed to be a place for learning and relaxation. She even described it as a “bad place,” which contradicted my explanation that libraries are meant for reading and research. This suggested to me that she had been placed possibly for time outs at library at tutor time not sure, she developed negative associations and habits, like spitting and smacking tongue sticking out, possibly from other children.of course kids are kids but this was a bad habit. On one occasion, while I was on my lunch break and working nearby, I saw a police officer at the daycare. This concerned me, so I called to inquire about it. Instead of receiving reassurance or an explanation, I was met with attitude, which was unhelpful and dismissive. I believe the daycare should have communicated such visits to all parents, explaining the situation and ensuring everyone that the children were safe. Additionally, the daycare's pricing was exorbitant. Despite paying $400 weekly for one child, they raised their fees significantly, making it feel even more overpriced. Overall, the owner’s attitude was poor, and there are other daycares that genuinely care about your child's well-being and development. I would recommend exploring other options. Be sure to keep all payment receipts, as I had several disputes resolved only because I retained mine. they switch staff constantly this indicates they are not happy or under paying their staff explains why they have attitude and frustration but this is a child care should always be love and positive Ms.Kaya or caya not sure how to pronounce her name is the most happiest loving attentive energetic staff they have ive told her personally & hope they never lose her the kids love her!! Parents as you walk in you will see every single staff on phone thats also not right!!
My daughter attended there for more than a year. She was quite happy. The best part I like is that it is family owned and they are pretty receptive to feedback. They can also make room for the sibling. They also can make siblings see each other during the day once in a while which is a great asset. They were mostly good at following my daughter’s dietary restrictions. Their teachers are also pretty stable (not a lot of turnaround), although one or two did not have a lot of patience. Kids celebrated a lot of birthdays there, I think that is bc the families who have kids there are also nice people. We finally switched to a different daycare to utilize the 3k program. Otherwise we were happy.
“I have been sending my two kids to Tutor Time in New Hyde Park since 2011 when my daughter was just six months old. When I had my son, he began his tenure at Tutor Time at just two months old. As the summer camp program comes to a close this week, and with my son beginning kindergarten in just a couple of weeks, now is the perfect time to submit my testimonial regarding the program and staff at Tutor Time. As most know, being a working parent is never easy but knowing that my children were being cared for, taught, protected and nurtured by the loving, devoted and incredible staff at Tutor Time made my days away from them possible. This is not just a day care program. Everything from the themed parties, the holiday and birthday celebrations, the dentist who comes to speak about the importance of brushing teeth, the food prepared at lunch, the graduation ceremonies and the summer camp program were all thoughtfully planned to ensure that the children received a daily experience that they were excited to talk about when they came home. As they say, "it takes a village", and I am so grateful and thankful to have had the staff at Tutor Time as part of my parenting team for so many years! I sincerely recommend Tutor Time of New Hyde Park to any parent looking to provide their child with an exceptional place to learn and grow.”
