I recently enrolled my daughter in the toddler program. I have to say I absolutely love this place she has adjusted so well coming from only being with me. Her teachers and the administrative staff are very transparent, professional and made this new journey for us so easy. The environment is very welcoming and everyone is so friendly. I would highly recommend enrolling your children here.

My son attended harbor day care summer camp for the last three years. They had some changes in staff that took the camp from a positive place to a negative/ unsafe environment. My son was having heat exhaustion, no one contacted me. I showed up to find my son pale, lethargic and with a 102 fever. He was in a hot room with no ac and given water that was very warm. If I did not know better I would have brought him to the hospital. I got him in the car , blasted AC on him and gave him an ice cold drink. We love about 20 minutes away and when he got home his temp was 97.8. On another occasion my son was sat out for defending himself while another boy started to hit him. The head counselor expressed that my son on sat out for 10 minutes and seen him playing on the field. Well that was completely wrong and we learned in a meeting that my son say out for the rest of the afternoon at a park playing with rocks and sticks. Of course everyone apologized but would not fill out an incident report that matched the details that had occurred. Instead I was spoken to in a condescending matter as the director Laura was unable to control her temper on several occasions. She has hung the phone on me when I inquired about information on a trip. Laura also showed anger issues with banging her hands on a desk during a meeting. She was also guided out by the head director during a conversation and proceeded to slam the door behind her. This camp is not a fun and safe environment like it once was. No one wanted to take accountability for anything that occurred. All I was told was that we were going to move forward from everything. When I inquired about getting the information of board members that would be in charge, I was denied every time and was told that it was illegal to provide me with any of there information. This school is very good at keeping incidents secrets. This school was reported for abuse of a child and a director not reporting the incident until the next day. When the state got involved the license was no longer applicable, there license was in a pending status under the contingency of doing different trainings and fixing up things that did not pass the inspection. The DOH provided a letter that was supposed to go out to all families but instead of being truthful they never sent out the letters and still there are parents that stand in the dark not knowing anything. I feel for an organization that is not truthful and honest what else are they omitting behind closed doors. I wish that I had the chance to put no stars but unfortunately I had no choice but to highlight the lowest star. Attach us the letter that was never posted by the facility for parents to see!

Our experience at Harbor Child Care, to highlight a few - Ms. Colleen, Ms. Evette, Ms. Sunita & Ms. Kaitlin and ALL of the administrators have been exceptional! From the moment we enrolled our daughters, we felt a sense of warmth and dedication from the staff. The caregivers and educators are not only highly skilled but also incredibly nurturing and attentive to each child’s needs. The curriculum is well-balanced, combining educational activities with ample playtime, fostering both intellectual and social growth. both of our daughters thrived in this environment, making new friends and developing skills that have prepared her well for the next stages of their education. The facilities are clean, safe, and filled with engaging materials that stimulated their curiosity for learning. The outdoor play areas are also fantastic, providing a safe and fun space for the kids to explore and enjoy. Communication with parents is unmatched! We were kept well-informed about our daughters and their progress and any upcoming events or activities. The staff always made us feel like part of the Harbor Child Care family, and their genuine care for our daughters and their well-being was evident every day. Overall, Harbor Child Care has exceeded our expectations in every way. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact it has had on our girls development and highly recommend it to any parents looking for a top-notch child care facility. We could not ask for a better child care center to send our kids to! My two children, plus several nephews and niece, have attended Harbor Herricks for almost 4 years now, and we are all so pleased with the experience. Our children continue to grow each and every day, and we can absolutely see the positive impact the Harbor environment has had on their development. The staff are wonderful and caring individuals who take excellent care of the children. They spend time every day engaging our kids in activities that benefit the children socially, behaviorally, academically, and emotionally. Our kids love going to school each day, and we are grateful to everyone at Harbor Herricks for making it such a great experience!
