However, negative reviewers report serious concerns including inadequate nutrition, excessive screen time, high staff turnover, inconsistent discipline practices, and alleged discrimination against children with disabilities.
I was very, very disappointed in this place when they made it very clear to me that they weren't willing to accept my child in her proper classroom due to her disabilities. Key to note: they've never met my child. I toured this facility in the summer of 2025 and loved it. I loved the 3-year-old room, I loved the assistant director who toured with me. I was looking for a place closer to my house for my daughter, and this was about as close as you can get. It was perfect. We discussed the start date and at the tour, it seemed like it was a done deal once I turned in the paperwork. It took me a few hours to fill it all out and send it back. In that time, it was apparently determined that they couldn't support my daughter after all. My daughter has mild disabilities, yes, but is perfectly able to be with her age-appropriate peers with minimal support. Suddenly, she can't be enrolled in the 3-year-old room because they've determined, without my input, that she can't be in that room due to her disabilities. She can only be in the two-year-old room. (By the way, this is illegal -- they can't independently make this decision). But of course, there's no space in that room, so tough luck for me. Again, they had never even met her! I requested multiple times to have a phone conversation with the staff about the sudden switch in attitude, but "coincidentally" their phones were down for the next week and they couldn't do that. So I sent an email saying that we did not want her in the 2-year-old room, we want her with her age-appropriate peers, as do all of her doctors/therapists, so can we please move forward with the registration as clearly there is room in that classroom. Eventually they emailed me back to say that oh no, they're closing enrollments to that classroom now. Tough luck again. I understand when special needs are involved, some adjustments and accommodations may need to be made. However, I was very open about my daughter and the help she does or doesn't need in the tour and every single person there was very sweet and kept saying how none of that is a problem at all. That discussion had already happened when I turned in the paperwork. I'm pretty sure it's the regional director who made the call, and I actually feel sorry for the assistant director who had to be the one to keep sending along the message. But this is unacceptable. I have told, and will continue to tell, every special needs mom in our community that this clearly isn't the place for their child to be included and accepted. It hurt our family to be discriminated against so blatantly. My daughter is a beautiful and wonderful child. Her teachers at her other daycare absolutely adore her. I will continue to make the out-of-the-way drive to Chesterbrook Academy, who accepts my daughter with open arms and hearts!
They refuse to accommodate families with special needs children. They rather you send your “problem” child somewhere else. This is NOT how a daycare should be raising our children. It’s NOT ok to discriminate against people who do not have the same typical needs as everyone else. DO BETTER!!!
This daycare discriminates against families with special needs children. They refuse to help any child with special needs. What a shame. I would not recommend sending your child here to grow up and have them think it’s ok.
I was a stay-at-home mom when my first child was born so sending my second child to a child care facility had always made me nervous. This facility is full of loving teachers. They genuinely want your child to be happy, healthy, and to grow into wonderful people. I know that my daughter is taken care of no matter which teacher is with her, and she loves all of them! When it was time for her to start walking, I was able to discuss with her teachers what would work best for them and for me. Now we are doing the same with phasing out her pacifier.
Tuckaway has been an amazing school to send my two children to! My youngest is in their infant classroom and my oldest is in the school age program. They both seem to really enjoy being there! Even on my days off my oldest actually requests to go to Tuckaway to be with her friends and enjoy the activities the teachers have planned that day. As for my youngest, I am definitely one that is referenced as a "helicopter dad" by my friends but I can confidently say that I feel the infant teachers at Tuckaway are competent and caring which more then puts my mind at ease! The director at the Innsbrook location is very sweet and kind and the rest of the staff seem to be right on par with that attitude! I couldn't be happier with their service! I don't typically leave reviews but I felt it necessary based on how well they take care of my family!
