The Sunshine House

My son had been to many day cares, and my son didn't seem to fit in with any of them. I then found the Sunshine House, where the tuition is the cheapest in the area, and the location is perfect. We had issues with the old management, mostly her 15 (exaggeration) kids. But now that she is gone and the new management is amazing, my son has not had any issues. Teachers are great especially the school age teacher. He loves it and comes home with a smile everyday. The staff is friendly, understanding and willing to help/listen. I honestly couldn't imagine my son being anywhere else. Especially over the summer, where they do field trips and keep the kids occupied.

We absolutely love Sunshine House Early Learning Academy!! My son is in the Infant room and we love Ms. Mary and Ms. Kaitlyn! My son is taken care of with quality care, the infants participate in curriculum based on the child’s milestones and my son is thriving! All the staff and management makes us feel like part of the family!

All 4 of my kids have been going to the sunshine house for a little over a year now. When my kids started at The Sunshine House of Gahanna, they were new to any type facility setting (as they have been to an in home daycare). Having my kids around new people, and being away from them to have them in someone else care made me nervous at first. However, the staff here quickly became like family. Mrs.Marsha(director), Jona, Honesty and Saniya have always taken the best care of my kids! They were always respectful, kind, and loving to all of my kids. Wherever they go in the future will be lucky to have them! I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THE ONE STAR REVIEW HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THE TEACHERS OR DIRECTOR! This review is due to the poor management. Mrs. Denise took over as a regional manager working remote from Texas and only flying in to see the facility every once and awhile. Not only were there small issues with my billing MULTIPLE times. Back in August there was a meeting and she was told that The Sunshine House in Gahanna was not renewing their lease for the building they currently leased. Instead of telling anyone, she waited until the beginning of November to tell everyone, including staff, that the center’s last day in business will be November 22nd by posting a sign on the door not giving any explanation. In the last year the multiple requests of having repairs made to the facility were overlooked. But within the last two weeks of the daycare being open the request to have the fence fixed (where our kids played outside) was fulfilled, the large pot holes in the parking lot are now starting to be fixed. To further add to the problem, to avoid conflict with her vacation, Mrs. Denise, gave her building key to the director of The Sunshine House in Grove City. The other facility, who we have been told is closing in July, we’re suppose to come to pick up some things to supply their own center, and the Director of Gahanna center was not made aware of what was going on until AFTER the Grove City staff had come and left. Going in Monday, the place look like it had been ransacked. Not only did they take what they were suppose to, the staff from the Grove city location also helped themselves to more. Including the gifts for a staff member in Gahanna’s baby shower were taken out of the office. The food in the kitchen including what was in the fridge had been taken. I mean what did they expect the children to eat while they spent the last few days in Gahanna? Idk what kinda management this is but it’s HORRIBLE. The staff and the parents deserve better!

I was extremely nervous about enrolling my son (12 months) into child care but all of those worries went away after meeting the staff at sunshine house. My son is doing amazing & they always keep me up to speed w how he’s doing. They are amazing w him. Colista, the director is great at what she does & is a wonderful representation of the day care center. Highly recommended

My daughter has been going here for about 3 1/2 years. She loves it. As a single parent I appreciate the safe transportation to and from school. The morning crew is especially efficient and awesome keeping the children organized and on track to start their day off right. The summer activities are great. I am very pleased with the direction, and feel of the facilities the new director has implemented.
