What Parents Say
Reviews are overwhelmingly positive, with parents praising the staff's friendliness and welcoming approach. Families highlight the center's community support programs and assistance during difficult times. However, several reviews appear to reference general Salvation Army services rather than the after-school program specifically.
I'm disabled physically disabled and can barely walk. Each time I visit for the free senior lunch during the week, the welcome from Jim at the front desk is cold and hard. He gossips with other visitors whom gives me a difficult time and leaves notes on my van telling me to not park where I do and not consider that they take up the best spots. I've seen Jim park the closet to the main door so he could take a cigarette break and one of the other Sr visitors park in handicapped parking and gets out of vehicle walking perfectly well. Im on a walker and a cane and have cancer and it's debilitating my body. They don't offer there spot for me and just make my visit there extremely unwelcome. Ive spoken briefly with the Director about this, ehrn he approached me about my parking between 2 handicapped stalls. I relayed to him that I just can't walk much at a time. He was compassionate and understanding. I don't go to fellowship there anymore because of the coldness of a couple of folks. I do go for a nice meal, however sit alone. The gesture of this organization is wonderful, snd by no means their unsurpassed giving in the community is genuine, however as a Senior, who comes for crafts, games and fellowship, one has to fit in, or stay abay.
I found some small plushies without a price on them and the lady at the counter said that she can't sell them to me. I asked her if she can price them. She said "we're not allowed to price them". I said, "so the pricer person isn't her. She just repeated. "We're not allowed to price them. I asked her, "who prices them? She snapped back at me and said " It doesn't matter. We're not allowed to price them." I found her very rude. Someone obviously prices them. All she had to said is that the pricing person isn't here.
Great people all around. From the commanders to the staff. Friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend. Great community establishment.
Been trying to sign my kids up for angel tree they never sent anything out I even sent an email to the email online and never got response. Called today and it’s too late to sign them up. They should send something out or at the very least answer their emails. Now I have to struggle to afford Christmas this year. So much for a helping organization
Big store that is empty! There were a bunch of Christmas decorations in the front of the store and the electronics is split up i 3 areas. Back corner part of the front and in the front counter. The prices were extremely high for their electronics and there wasn't much as far as books or CD media. I might have gone in after a huge sale week.
