What Parents Say
Tender Care Learning Center has received mixed reviews. Most parents praise the caring staff, developmental curriculum, and accommodating hours, with children showing enthusiasm and growth. However, some parents report concerns about classroom management, staff professionalism, toy hygiene, and alleged discriminatory treatment toward children with special needs.
I have had both of my kids at tender care and have loved it. My daughter was there from infant to preschool and was very well prepared when she entered kindergarten. My son currently goes there and is always excited to go to school.
I was speaking with worker Kim from Tender care to get my kids into this daycare. I heard another worker yelling “LAY DOWN NOW” very aggressive. I comforted Kim about the aggressive background noise and Kim stated “whatever” and laughed. This is definitely not a learning center I would recommend. I do NOT want anyone to yell at my child the way she did.
My son attended Tender Care from May 2021 through June 2023. It was the only daycare that I called at the time that had an opening. The daycare is very unorganized and the rooms are divided by half walls except for the infant room. When we transitioned to the toddler room, it was very noisy and my son would sit in the corner to try to get away from all the noise and chaos from all the disorganization. My son also required therapy. I felt like that me, my husband, and my son were singled out and disliked because of my son needing therapy. I had only needed my son to go 3 days a week and when my schedule at work changed, I asked if he could go 4 days a week. The Assistant Manager, Victoria, told me, and I quote, "We do not want him here no more than what he has to be". I was so shocked that she said that. I just could not believe how unprofessional she was to me. Luckily, my employer let me still work the 3 days a week since I could not send my son to Tender Care 4 days a week. I immediately was looking for other daycares and was on several waiting lists. After 9 months of being on waiting lists with other daycares, I was able to get into another daycare. It just really hurts to have been mistreated and disrespected just because my son needed therapy. Everyone is going through something. I just can't believe how unkind Tender Care in Monroeville was to me and my family. Thankfully, the Early Intervention of Infants and Toddlers had a meeting with Tender Care and told them of my rights. Even though I had no other options, I stayed there quietly and showed them with respect until I was able to take my son out of there. After the meeting with Early Intervention, Tender Care said I could send my son there more days if I needed to but after all what they put me through, I did not want him there anymore than what he had to be like how they originally told me how they did not want him there anymore than what he had to be. I hope no one else has had a bad experience like I did, at this daycare or any daycare. No parent should have to go through this type of treatment.
I looked at so many daycare centers before putting my son at tender care and I didn’t feel what I felt when I walked through there doors. I absolutely love it there. I couldn’t wait for my son to start there. My son started in the infant room where the head infant room teacher made me feel completely comfortable knowing that my baby was in good hands while I was at work. My son now is in the toddler one room and we both love her. He will soon be transitioning into the toddler two year old room. You can feel that all the teachers genuinely love the children there and that they all absolutely love what they do. I would highly recommend this daycare. Shout out to the director and the assistant director and all the teachers there thank you for what you do everyday.
We've had our kiddo there for a few months now and have been very pleased with the care he has received. Their hours are very accommodating for working parents, which is a huge plus. They have an age-appropriate curriculum that they follow even with the infants, and I've seen my kid grow and advance quite a bit since he's been there-- he's really been thriving. I can see that they all really care about the kids. Kiddo smiles every morning when I ask him "are you ready to go to school?"
