My two kids went to this Step by Step for about 6 months and it was the worst experience we have ever had anywhere. The teachers are hard and uncaring. They are not empathetic towards the children. My oldest told me that the teachers are nice when parents are around but mean when parents aren’t there. My youngest teachers were rude and mean not only to me but my child. I had come in to pick my kids up a couple times unannounced and noticed my kids sitting alone looking sad. One I came to pick my daughter up and she was sitting on the shoe rug wet waiting for me. They would get mad when my youngest would wet herself because she wasn’t fully potty trained yet and they would take it out on her. When it came to using the bathroom they only let them use a tiny amount of tissue paper to wipe themselves so my youngest still to this day has problems whipping properly. I was told I could not pick my youngest up to give them a hug that there were a big girl and I should not be picking them up. I spoke with the Director multiple times asking them to work with the teachers on empathy towards the children with no change . Towards the end, the director would avoid me by going in the back When she seen me coming in. I would advise any parent to look elsewhere for childcare.

Both of my daughters attended SBS in Plymouth, and my oldest is now starting kindergarten. We are moving my youngest to a new daycare, but that's only due to the fact we now live much further away. If I could, I would've kept her in SBS until kindergarten! My youngest was born a few months after COVID started, and eventually started at SBS in the infant room. She aged up through the toddler rooms, and into Children's House 1. I thought the Montessori approach worked amazingly well for our kids, and I know my oldest is more than ready for Kindergarten. I really loved the staff and curriculum at Step by Step - not to mention the dance class offered by Ms Missy, and extra-curricular classes. Just some of the great teachers we had during our time included: Ms Francina, Ms Lisett, Ms Alyssa, Ms Tamira, Ms Lee, Ms Michelle, Ms Victoria, Ms Charlene, and Ms Chauntell!

Organization didn’t want to accept my child because of his IEP. Director doesn’t respond to emails, or have any decent communication skills. Wouldn’t recommend.

Our kids have attended Step By Step since they were 3 and we feel they have thrived. The teachers are caring and attentive and the kids really have formed personal bonds with them and their friends. The atmosphere is conducive to learning, exploration and fun. The children look forward to going to school every day. There are a lot of onsite activities available if the kids are interested to participate. In some cases, it would be nice to see them challenge the kids academically a bit more to get them accustomed to problem solving on a regular basis in a safe and nurturing environment. Overall we are extremely pleased with the school and highly recommend it for prospective students and parents.

Our son has been at Step by Step since he was 4 months, now 11 months... so my review is for a short time frame. But the teachers have been so wonderful to work with during our time there. I see the smiles on my kid's face when he comes and goes each day and that's because of them! He is safe, cared for and loved when he's there. We are sorry to say goodbye soon as we are moving, but I would absolutely recommend this place!
