Wandering toward Ditmars we found the church doors open at 6PM and worshippers inside, waiting for a beautiful vespers service to begin at 7PM. The iconography on the interior of this church is achingly beautiful, especially the Theotokos in red in the apse, bearing her God child, Jesus Christ. To the left of the iconostasis is a relic of the queen, the saint namesake of the church. The icon cases have lovely golden light which allowed me to prayerfully meditate in the dark church. It was powerful to find a dozen people in church an hour early, in peaceful private prayer. Highly recommended, a must-visit in Ditmars for moments of wonder and prayerful worship of the triune God.

This is the relationship with your soul and the creator who loves us... All welcome, no need for signs and identities not important...God knows the heart and the cure..... Just go!...feel the healing shredded in pounds of stress, one candle one dollar and speak to your father in heaven.... God bless us all!
A truly beautiful church. Every time I’m in Astoria, I make it a point to stop by and light a candle. The atmosphere is peaceful, the architecture is stunning, and there’s a deep sense of spiritual presence that’s hard to put into words. It’s a special place that offers comfort, reflection, and connection. A blessing to have in the heart of the community.
It's a very holy place to worship and connect with God, the archbishop/Father priest is a blessing from God...
