Full disclosure - I’m the Vicar here, so I might be a bit bias but I love this place! To the beautiful worship space that is somehow both stark and welcoming, simple yet awe inspiring, to the people who are genuine with huge hearts, to the beautiful liturgy and music - come check it out for yourself. I believe church is a place to tend to your spiritual self - to connect with God and one another and to be reminded that there is enough love in the world to extend to all people. We root ourselves in the story of Jesus coming to earth to show us what this love from God looks like and feels like. Sometimes we forget we belong to each other and to God, church is a place to come and remember. Come for the free honey (for first time visitors) stay for the connection to God and community!
I have been attending St. Columba's off and on as life allows for over 10 years. I started attending when I lived near by in Federal Way and although I looked for a new spiritual home after moving to Seattle I have never found a church that is so radically welcoming and accepting of everyone who walks through the doors and keep coming back, to be welcomed with open arms by this caring community. I'm proud of St. Columba's commitment to serve the community through ministries like the food bank and community and refugee garden. Come see for yourself what makes St. Columba's so special!
We found St Columba's after taking a hiatus from attending church during Covid. We were immediately welcomed, made to feel at home, and haven't looked back. Our kids allowed to be kids and are provided learning opportunities that speak to their ages and interests while teaching them about their faith. The combination of long-standing tradition and ceremony with the modern and progressive view of community makes this a place where we feel comfortable, seen, and loved.
It was the most inspirational feeling to worship God with fellow Christians and the inviting people that were there without being pushy , the priest was phenomenal, the sermon touched my heart , can't wait to go back and share God with St Columban,s
