As a new mom, I was very nervous about enrolling into any daycare, but I am very glad I had chose small steps! They were very informative, Communicative, and have excellent attentiveness for each child’s needs. My daughter started here when she was three and just graduated from pre-K. She is more to herself and always was happy to wake up and go to school ! Even on the days she wasn’t so happy I knew by the end of the day, she would always come home with a smile and fun, silly stories of what she did That day. I highly recommend this location and if I ever have another little one, I will definitely enroll them here again! (also, they are very creative with their thoughts toward the parents and events for the kids)

My son has been going to this school since he was 7 months old. He is now just shy of three years. The staff and director have been very patient with my son and I through any challenges we've had. I appreciate their willingness to communicate at any time, night, or day and their responsiveness to my concerns. They're always available to answer questions and give tips on how to help my child succeed and thrive. My son loves all of the teachers and has learned so much! I am shocked at how much he knows at such a young age! All thanks to Small Steps Discovery Center!

This school is like home for us, both my boys have been going there since 2/3 months old, they are now 3 and 10months old. The staff is caring and very professional. The artwork they bring home is so cute and my 3yr. old is learning so much! I very much recommend this place.

Small Steps Discovery has been a family to my children since we started going to them last year. An issue arose recently with my oldest daughter and an employee named Nancy. Every day when I would pick my daughter up, Nancy would be annoyed by her excitement to see me. Along with many other moments I witnessed with her being verbally aggressive to the children and snatching toys away from them, saying “mine”, and accusing them of being a thief. Terms like that can have lasting impressions on young children and it did not settle well with me, knowing she was caring for my toddler. I reported this to an employee who reassured me that it would be escalated to the director. I was told the director was going to handle it but I was never spoken to directly by her regarding my complaint. The last incident before I removed both of my children from the school, was on Thursday, March 12, when Nancy did not feed my infant the correct portion of formula to the water in the bottle. Their policy is for the parents to fill the bottles with water and use a formula dispenser to prevent opportunities of error. The night of the occurrence, my husband was emptying out their backpacks and noticed the formula dispenser was half empty. Evidence that the bottle was not properly made during the day. The next morning I addressed my concerns and sent the image of the formula dispenser to an employee, she reassured me that the director Susan would investigate. I received no phone call or in person communication that afternoon when I picked up my children from any leadership. Monday, March 16, Susan met me in the parking lot while I was unloading my infant and toddler, to speak about last Friday and apologized for not contacting me. She continued saying how they reviewed the cameras and found evidence that the employee in question did not empty the full dispenser into the bottle. I asked to see the video and confirmation that it was (Nancy) who was to blame. Susan was hesitant on being able to show me the video and wanted me to assume who the employee was due to her not wanting to say her name. I asked what the solution was going to be, and Susan said she felt Nancy was not mentally capable of taking care of children but she will be monitored and never left alone. She also did not want to be the bad guy and fire Nancy because of her retiring in a few months. I was angered and disappointed by what I was being told. I feel like an employee was chosen above my children’s well being, so I removed my children from this school. If it wasn’t for this poor choice in keeping an employee who needs to be baby sat to care for children, my girls would still be attending Small Steps Discovery Center.
