Sheltering Arms - Oakley Township

Wish I could actually review the school for the services they provide. However, I called March 1st for enrollment, since that’s was the date advertised for 24-25 enrollment. To date, I have received no phone call back from the enrollment specialist. I even called the central office bc I really wanted my daughter here due to the great things I heat about the school. No answer other than she’s doing current families. So why advertise if you aren’t ready. I took this as a sign to not enroll my child if I do ever receive a call back. Don’t want my child the care of people I can’t contact.

My son has been here for 1 year. He is almost 4 years old. He was definitely an introvert but the teachers and other staff and being with other children have been great for his growth and development. He is even beginning to read. Facility is clean and my child really enjoys going to “school,”. Would definitely recommend!!

Just unprofessional and nonchalant about people’s time and situations. Started paperwork in December. Provided all the paperwork they asked for but still wanted more. Was told my child would start in January but all of a sudden they needed more paperwork. Made a appointment with Sherwood and had me standing outside for 30 minutes saying she was on the phone. That window of time should’ve been closed off for the appointment you made! I assumed that was common sense. My children were not able to start and I’m looking for a new daycare with less hoops to jump through.

I had enrolled my daughter in their Pre-K program for the fall 2022 season. I required before and aftercare since my working hours were 7 to 4. Before care begins at 7:30 and aftercare ends at 5. Sheltering Arms was unwilling to extend their before and aftercare hours to accommodate. I spoke with a few other parents who had to relinquish their spot at this and other Sheltering Arms locations for the same reason. So much for my child getting an early start in preparation for her education. As a result, she'll remain in daycare another year. This is unacceptable and I now realize why it's important to live in a community with access to better schools. Sheltering Arms - do better.

This center is heaven on earth. I've always been nervous about sending my children to daycare, but this is no daycare center. This development center has been such a wonderful place for my entire family. They focus not only on the student, but the entire family. The facility is always clean and the staff is first class. I've never been so comfortable and made to feel so welcome in a place.
