While I would love to give APEC more than one star, this organization is discriminatory to children with special education needs and learning disabilities. Instead of accommodating children as required by hiring the appropriate professionals who are certified and equipped to support diverse learners and neurodivergent children, they push you to remove your child under the excuse of lack of resources. Perhaps you shouldn’t request IEP’s and 504’s if it’s only to appear inclusive and equitable on “paper.” To add to insult, this organization offered us the opportunity to have a special education teacher from our son’s school work on-site with him after school for a lovely rate of $35 per hour. $35 per hour is not what your website states the cost is for weekly after care services. This is blatant discrimination and unethical practices. It is the responsibility of the organization to train their staff to serve children with learning disabilities and provide a livable wage, not the parents.
