What Parents Say
A Smart Start Learning Academy receives consistently high praise from parents who highlight the clean, organized facility and caring staff led by owners the Reddings. Parents report significant developmental progress in their children across academic skills, communication, and social-emotional growth. The center emphasizes hands-on, child-led learning with regular parent communication and family-oriented care.
My daughter has gone to two different learning centers that turned out to just being a daycare, she was never learning anything at both locations. I brought my daughter here to A Smart Start Learning Academy and she has grown so much and has learned so much in a very little time. We love Ms. Cox she is so loving and caring for these babies here. I don’t have to worry about my daughter being here at this Learning center she’s getting what she needs and she’s always ready to go back to school verses her crying every day not wanting to go to the other two daycares.
The owner, Mrs Rose is nasty. Her attitude doesn’t make me feel comfortable about keeping my kid there. It’s a shame. I left the facility because she said I couldn’t send my child to daycare if her snot isn’t clear. No fever, no cough, just discolored snot. I was getting phone calls to leave work because of it and it’s an inconvenience to me as a parent. I pay the daycare to ensure my child is taken care of and I can go to work. If I can’t work, it’s a waste of money. I told her that wasn’t in her handbook & is not state regulated. When I went to pick my child up, she changed the handbook that day and handed it to me to sign to be smart. Aside from that incident, every morning, she has an attitude on her face and barely speaks. There are never consistent workers in there, everybody leaves because of her. I really wanted stability for my child so I tried to stick it out. But I just couldn’t do it.
I would not recommend Smart Start Learning Center. My two daughters attended for about 9–10 months. Around month 5, I was called to pick up my baby because she had yellow/green nasal discharge with no other symptoms. I promptly took her to the doctor, who provided a note. The center refused the note and told me to call Bright From The Start, claiming it wasn’t in their policy to require a doctor’s note for nasal discharge. The director refused to come speak with me, spoke to me rudely, and told me I should find another daycare if I felt uncomfortable. The last straw was that my child couldn’t return without a doctor clearance for a nasal discharge color, even though she showed no other illness. When I addressed my concerns, the owner revised the handbook and would not take accountability, insisting she was right. She was unprofessional and seemed to be running the daycare poorly. None of the staff appeared certified, and she frequently changes employees; former staff have reported ongoing issues with the owner. Send your child(ren) somewhere else—don’t say you weren’t warned. This place needs to be investigated expeditiously. ROSE REDDING needs to be looked into. I believe the other reviews—everyone can’t be lying about this daycare facility or about her. At first I didn’t want to uproot my daughter because it was convenient for me and they were comfortable, but if you want to stay out of trouble with the law, run for the hills.
I am writing to share my strong recommendation against enrolling your child here. Based on my experience, the owner, Ms. Rose, is extremely unprofessional. I strongly advise reading the reviews before making any decisions regarding enrollment. I WISH I CAN GIVE 0 STARS!!!
My daughter Truth attends this school and i must say I’m glad it was my choice. The school is very clean , the other students are well behaved, my daughter loves her teachers and best of all she’s really learning. I feel like A Smart Start Learning Academy is really preparing her for the next level of learning.
