What Parents Say
Shady Grove Learning Center receives mostly positive reviews praising the caring staff, welcoming environment, and academic progress of children. However, two negative reviews raise serious concerns about cleanliness, staff conduct, and safety issues including hygiene problems and inappropriate teacher behavior.
My children have been attending this school for a few years now and I absolutely love it. My daughter has improved tremendously academically. She knows her numbers, colors and shapes. Every day seems like she is learning something knew and tells me about her day. I love all the teachers and how welcoming they are every morning receiving my kids. I've never had any issues the whole time my kids have been attending here, the director is so great with letting us know any incidents right away. The owners are very kind and always seem so happy to see the kids coming into the building. I'm thankful for this place and their loving environment they give my babies. I highly recommend this place!
As both a teacher and a parent, I have been incredibly impressed with Shady Grove Learning Center over the past four years. From the very beginning, their level of organization and responsibility has stood out. The staff consistently demonstrate a genuine commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Whenever I have had concerns, I’ve always felt confident that they listen carefully and take prompt, thoughtful action to address any issues. It’s comforting to know that my kids are in good hands. My children love being there—they are always excited to go and are constantly learning and growing. Seeing their enthusiasm and progress reassures me that Shady Grove Learning Center is truly dedicated to their development. I highly recommend this center to any parent seeking a caring, professional, and enriching environment for their children.
I found this place when I was in dire need of care for my son on select days of the week. Who honestly can afford $800 daycare per week, regardless if the child shows up or not? I was blessed to pay a very affordable rate! The staff were all very friendly and I cannot thank them enough for all they did for my son. He grew up, socialized, and they helped with his potty training. He did so well! Thank you so much Shady Grove for all that you did. I will always remember you all as the place that got my son started on a very solid foundation.
My grandson attends Shady Grove Learning Center and the director May West and the management team are amazing. The teachers are so responsive to the needs of each child. The interactions between teachers and children are warm and positive.
At first it was a relief finding a childcare that picked up from my son's school and also took childcare assistance, since we're borderline Grand Prairie and Irving. Most childcare centers try to maximize the amount of kids and minimize the expenses and that is a huge problem. You get what you pay for! I can't say anything negative about Ms. Alisha, it takes a whole team to make something work and she does what she can! I've worked in 5 different licensed chilcare centers and I always take pride in what I do. The problem with this center is that is dirty, some of the teachers speak rudely to the kids, there's a lot of bullying going on and not much is done about it. My son doesn't like going most of the time, he's autistic but usually very happy and friendly. He has come home with lice and ringworm from that carpet in the middle of the classroom and I put it to the test by keeping him home several days and then sent him back with shorts... his legs got worse and very irritated. As soon as I walk in, the place smells bad, I've seen teachers over-ratio and that adds stress to them. I wish childcare owners understood that the problem starts with them.
