I cannot say enough amazing things about this school. We enrolled our son when he was 10 weeks old and he is now almost 18 months. We have never had one problem with the teachers/staff or anyone! They love on these kids so well and are super attentive. They constantly keep us updated through their app on how he is doing - how often he is eating, has diaper changes, what activities he is doing, posting pictures. I truly feel so grateful that we found such an incredible place to trust with our baby boy. I would recommend this school to anyone! We love the head of school, Ms. Lacy, and all of the staff!
We have been taking our baby boy here for the past 5 months and our experience has been nothing short of fantastic. My son started school here at the age of 4 months old. On his first day, I was immediately greeted by Lacy and Ms. Katie in the infants 1 class. I was feeling emotional and Ms. Katie gave me a hug and told me she would take the best care of my boy and I shouldn't need to worry. Her sweet, calming demeanor instantly put me at ease. I trusted her immediately. Lacy also reassured me and made me feel as comfortable as possible! Five months later, I can confidently say my son is thriving at St. James. He absolutely loves his teachers and friends. He gets to do all sorts of crafts, sensory activities, walks and play dates outside, fun events such as Western Day (with a petting zoo, bounce houses, a train, live music from the music teacher, and so much more), singing/playing instruments with the music teacher, and lots of interaction with the loving staff. I get pictures and videos on the regular and he's always having the best time. They have worked with me on his difficult sleep (he was a contact napper up until daycare) and never once made me feel bad for it. I have only ever heard positive things about my boy and how much they love him. The love he feels from them is evident as he smiles and is happy to go to every member of the staff that works with him, including Lacy, who clearly stays involved with all the kids. St. James is clean, organized, and safe. Best of all, my baby loves it so much...and that's all I prayed for. Don't think twice! If you're looking for a place to send your baby, this is the place.
St. James Episcopal Day School has been a true blessing to our family. Starting with our oldest and now to our youngest, we have been so grateful for the amazing teachers and staff. They have provided our child with a safe, Christian learning environment. It has given us a piece of mind when we go to work knowing our children are loved and cared for by all the staff at St. James. Throughout our years at St. James, we have felt like a family and our children LOVE going to school everyday.
We first enrolled at St. James a little over a year ago. During this time, the school has gone through 3 directors and my son has had 9 different teachers. Our experience with Ms. Heeman's pre-k class for our daughter was great; however my son's experience at 2 and 3 has been nothing less than a nightmare. For two years in a row, there was an incredible lack of communication. The school was investigated and fined by the state for leaving a child unsupervised. They played games in a parking lot where children were running around (despite having a fenced in playground) and then wrote my child up for running away in the parking lot on the same day they were playing these games. Lacy (director) called a behavior meeting where the teacher was supposed to be present via phone and when we got there, no attempt was made to include the teacher. They failed to follow the behavior plan for a single day. When confronted about the lack of communication, Lacy's response was that she was unaware of what was going on in the classroom because she relied on staff to report information to her. Despite having been at the school since May, she commented that my child "didn't really know her". This just goes to show that she does not have oversight as to what is happening in the facility she is responsible for which ultimately puts the safety/welfare of the children at risk. Last year, my daughter was in a building that had a mold problem and the issue was not identified til this past summer. I would not recommend St. James.
St. James Episcopal Day School is the best in Conroe. At all age levels they have incredible staff and great teachers. Both my children attended and we enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend this school above all others.
