What Parents Say
Safetyland Day Nursery & Kindergarten in Tampa has mixed reviews. Most parents praise the caring staff, particularly teachers Ms. Wanda and Ms. Gloria, and report their children are safe and happy. However, some parents report unprofessional management, outdated facilities, and concerns about administrative practices.
You're head maintenance guy is doing bad business telling me I had the job But yet when the day came for him to call me to tell me what time I started the next day, he never called me. I had to find out later that evening when he refused to answer my call and then he finally answered my text about it that he had 2 interviews scheduled for the same day that I was supposed to start. Then he tells me I'll let you know if something on Sunday. It's been a week and a 1/2 since I've heard anything from him. He refused to call my reference for the day. Care that I worked out. I told him that I had carpenter experience because I had worked withabitat for humanity and I started with them when I was 17 I am 42 in a week we gonna have so I have the day care experience and I have the carpentry experience. He's trying To say that I told him I had no experience. You all need to get rid of him or I will continue putting bad reviews on here For those of you who want your kids in this day care, are you sure that you want them there? Knowing that this company is doing bad business. Yes, I'm making sure everybody knows because they do not deserve to be open. If you do bad business, you do not deserve to be open.
The parents that have issues are parents that let their child do anything and get away with it. Then, they complain when the staff have to address their child's issues. Basic manners should be taught at home by the parents (and used in public by the parents) and not by the staff/teachers which takes away from classroom learning. I would love to see more educational learning but that's hard to do when they are dealing with behaviors. To be honest, thats across the board in all Florida's day cares. The staff they are caring. The children get fed healthy well balance snacks and meals. The building is always clean but could use some updating. No center is perfect. Overall, the children are safe and happy. FYI: If you have concerns, talk to Mrs. Wanda about it and have suggestions ready. All the daycares are complaining about staff shortages due to sickness or the fact that the pay is low in that field. NO, I DON'T WORK THERE.
DO NOT USE THIS DAYCARE - My kids attended this daycare for one day and that was enough to RUN, not walk, away from this place. I gave one star for the daycare looking 'nice' from the outside but that's it. Management is RUDE, RATCHET, UNPROFESSIONAL and IGNORANT. The owner/director is an old lady that seems to be losing her wits, she supposedly runs the place but has no clue what's going on - or at least pretends not to know. The conversations I had with the director and assistant was the most disgusting I've been spoken to all year. I already made a complaint to school readiness and want to leave this review here in hopes that it can save you from dealing with such vile, petty people.
PARENTS!! If you really love your child, DO NOT LEAVE THEM AT THESE PLACE. I UNDERSTAND THAT WE NEED TO WORK, BUT PLASE, OUR CHILDREN SAFETY HAS TO BE FIRST. I went there today to see the place and met the people that was going to take care of my child before I apply for the afterschool program, and I cannot explain how sad my heart felt after seeing those children. The place is really dirty, doors are open so anyone can get in, without being noticed, I get in and nobody notice that I was there for over 10 minutes. I don't like to judge people, but the lady's that work there looks really creepy. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR LITTLE ONES.
Safteyland is NOT a place you should have your child attend. First off, the kids constantly get sick. So the people who work are always sick which of course means being understaffed. Very outdated facility which leads to hazardous health problems such as mold and illnesses that could have your child in the hospital in some cases. VERY unprofessional they barely care about the children the way they brush off a child bleeding from being kicked in the mouth and no action was taken. You have to deal with rude staff that don't care if you choose to enroll a student, when you are have problems with an issue that's going on concerning your child its like playing Russian Roulette it may be resolved or the issue could continue. Not enough staff to supervise, too many complaints from parents and the list goes on. Unless you don't care about your child's well being and don't care if your child is getting the proper treatment while you are away then go right ahead. That place doesn't deserve the name it has. Worst daycare I've been to ever.
