I had already experienced the worst at this school before the name changed, but I felt a glimmer of hope when I heard the problematic teachers were gone. During my tour, the owner personally assured me there were plenty of spots and that full-time enrollment could start immediately. Based on that promise, I even canceled my child’s finalized enrollment at another school. Then I received an email denying enrollment based on an application I never even submitted. The application form they gave me is still sitting at home, untouched. The content of their rejection email was so deceptive that it felt like they were mocking me as a parent. The discrepancy between what was promised in person and the actual outcome was shocking—I was so distressed that my hands were shaking. Promises vs. reality could not be more opposite here. Despite the new name on the sign, the school’s management has clearly not changed. I would never recommend this school to anyone. And one final note: before disliking children who don’t nap, think about what they actually need instead!!! In hindsight, I wonder whether my questions about who would be teaching my child played a role in what followed.
Please be aware that many of the recent five‑star reviews appear to be written by or connected to the new owners. Our family attended Michele’s Montessori before it became Playful Scholars, so our experience reflects the transition. The teachers have always been wonderful and are the only reason this isn’t a one‑star review. Unfortunately, the owner was ultimately why we chose to leave and not continue through the changeover. The turnover is extremely high, and it’s clear that little care is given to supporting the staff. The new owners have no background in childcare—they work in real estate—which doesn’t inspire confidence. To make things more confusing, the former owner told parents she would remain heavily involved, while the new owners claimed her involvement would only last through the transition. A lot of children and staff left due to the treatment by the current owner. The building itself was another major concern. During severe winter weather, the parking lot was neither shoveled nor plowed, leading to dangerous conditions. My children slipped and fell, and cars were getting stuck. I had to bring up the safety issue multiple times before anything was done. Previously, the director (before she left for another opportunity) would shovel and salt the area herself, without reimbursement. Teachers also handled classroom laundry without compensation—something I learned from former staff. Staff turnover is constant, sometimes weekly, due to poor treatment. After several years as a parent there, it became obvious that the priority is money, not the children. I don’t know Morgan, Logan, or Kevin—the new owners behind the recent glowing reviews. I genuinely hope things improve, but based on what we experienced, I would advise proceeding with caution. I do truly hope things get better and the new owners fulfill all the promises they've made to parents and teachers alike.
Nice school that teaches and entertains simultaneously. My kid is there for 2 years now and he loves it. Teaches are great too.
