Play And Learn

I’ve long been impressed with the wonderful staff and teachers and the outstanding care my children have received at Learn and Play in Pleasant Hill. The environment is incredibly warm and welcoming. My kids are always greeted by name and with a smile, and I know they feel safe, secure and well cared for there. Their days are filled with fun and engaging activities - circle time, art, outdoor play and creative/exploratory opportunities (sensory bins, pretend play, play doh, music time, etc.) My daughter started in the toddler house, spent time in two different preschool classrooms and is now in the after school program, all of which have been outstanding. She’s in TK at public school now, and the transition to the classroom was seamless thanks to her great preparation in Maria’s preschool class at Learn and Play. My son started at Learn and Play a few weeks ago in the program for two year olds, and despite being new, is already finding his groove and gives us a big smile when we ask about his teachers, Ana and Brittany. I can’t say enough good about the staff and teachers - we’ve also had fantastic experiences with Marisol, Yasmin and Gabby, and Chris, Maria and Gaby in the office are always helpful, kind and compassionate. I’m very grateful for this school, and highly recommend it.

We’ve had a wonderful experience at this preschool with both of our children who both started in the toddler program around ages 2 & 3. The teachers and staff are incredibly warm and loving; they truly feel like part of our village. Even after our oldest graduated, the director, admin team, and his previous teachers and other staff still greet them with genuine warmth when we’re picking up our little one there, which says so much about the community here. We wanted them in this setting for social-emotional development prior to attending elementary school. What we've gotten is that, plus a boost in their confidence and we've been very happy with our experience.

We absolutely love this preschool! This was our twins’ first experience in childcare outside of the home, and the entire staff made the transition so smooth for them (and for us!). Our kids adore their teachers, Mrs. Maria and Mrs. Gita, who are warm, patient, and truly invested in each child’s growth. The entire staff, especially Mrs. Chris and Mrs. Gabby, are always kind, helpful, and quick to respond whenever we need anything. We feel so supported and confident knowing our kids are in such a caring environment every day. Couldn’t recommend this school more highly!

Our daughter has been at Learn and Play for 8 months and loves going to daycare each day. She lights up talking about her teacher and her friends. We love that food is provided because it encourages her to eat more variety. She has become so verbal and more imaginative and we can tell she is learning a lot too- at 2 years old she can say all her ABCs and count to 10. She loves dancing and the outside free play time too- we looked at other places where kids were only outside 1 hour in the morning, and I’m so glad she gets more time than that. We can see she is really thriving there and really appreciate the team of teachers and admin who all work so hard. It’s also really nice how they involve parents from time to time at events. Overall we are very happy with the school’s sense of community and it’s such a relief as a parent to see your kid happy each day. There are so many daycare choices out there and we know we chose the right one for our daughter.

My daughter has been attending LAPMS since August 2024 and it’s been a wonderful experience! It’s been a good balance of free play which has significant improved her pretend play skills; to a minimal amount of academics at each child’s pace! I love that they have different schedules to accommodate parents needs. The teachers and admin staff have all been wonderful. We will be moving to the next class for the older kids. Oooh and one other big perk is lunch is provided and cooked onsite! (We paid about the same per month for my older son and meals were not included.)
