Pillsbury House Early Education Center

I can’t say enough good things about PEEC! We love having our toddler here. They are so loving and warm with the kids, clearly happy to be with them. I always feel confident that our daughter is safe, engaged in enriching activity, and learning exactly what she needs to. Her social skills and confidence have blossomed here, and she brings her learning home which we really appreciate. She is always happy to arrive at school and loves telling us how much fun she had that day. She loves her teachers and we do too. Every day is a good day at PEEC!

PEEC is a blend of all the best parts of in-home daycare, daycare centers, and preschool. The two classrooms are small, and my child gets loving attention from all the staff, similar to what we have experienced in in-home daycare. The days are structured in that they follow a schedule involving art, movement, outdoor play, freeplay, meals, and nap, but they have never felt restrictive for my family. PEEC's placement within Pillsbury House has enabled it to connect children to local artists (who also love engaging with the kids!) in ways I (and perhaps most centers) could ever coordinate myself. My child has learned how to be a considerate member of a community, how to write his name, and how to speak bits of Spanish and ASL. He has made friends he is fond of (most of whom who live near us and PEEC), and I have made meaningful connections with other parents/caregivers. My child and I will miss PEEC when he "graduates", but he will leave being more than fully prepared--socially and skillfully--for kindergarten.

Our family LOVES PEEC. Our son (almost three) has been in the toddler room for almost a year, and we can’t say enough good things about the people, the place, and the learning. We’re a queer family and have found PEEC to be a very affirming environment. Ms. Soraida made potty training a breeze. Our son comes home with new words, a bounty of art projects, and sweet stories about friends every day. It’s such a comfort to know how loved and engaged our little kid is when we’re not with him.

Our experience with the Pillsbury Early Education Center (PEEC) has been incredibly positive, and we're thrilled to share our thoughts on this wonderful facility. Having two children enrolled here, one for over two years and the younger soon advancing to the older kids' classroom, we've witnessed first-hand the nurturing and supportive environment PEEC provides. 1) Support for Development: The center excels in fostering each child's individual growth. We've been impressed by the milestones our children have reached, from mastering drinking from a cup, to potty training, and eventually learning to write their names. The small setting at PEEC allows for personalized attention, which has been instrumental in their development. 2) Community Engagement: Located within the vibrant Pillsbury House + Theatre, PEEC benefits from a rich community setting. Our children have enjoyed diverse activities, including field trips in the local community, interactions with volunteers, and engaging sessions with artists-in-residence. These experiences have introduced them to music, dance, yoga, painting, and more, enriching their educational journey. 3) Language Exposure: The multicultural environment at PEEC has been a highlight. Although not a formal Spanish immersion program, the diversity of families and staff has naturally introduced our children to Spanish, enhancing their language skills and cultural understanding. 4) Nutritional Focus: The center's commitment to healthy and varied meals has been fantastic. This approach has not only provided nutritional benefits but has also helped our children develop into adventurous eaters, willing to try new and diverse foods. 5) Teacher Engagement: Finally, the dedication and care shown by the teachers at PEEC stands out. Their genuine concern for the children's well-being and their support for us as parents have greatly contributed to our positive experience. We wholeheartedly recommend PEEC to any family seeking a well-rounded preschool experience for their child.

Our daughter started at Pillsbury at about 18mo old and really grew under their care! She was ready for the structure and the social experience. The instructors are kind and clearly care for our daughter. The arts activities they do are inspirational. We love Pillsbury and are so happy to have this local resource.
