What Parents Say
Palma Ceia Academy receives consistently high praise from parents, with particular emphasis on the caring, long-tenured staff who create a family-like environment. Parents report their children show academic progress, enthusiasm about attending, and strong emotional connections to teachers. The facility is described as a trusted neighborhood institution with a decades-long track record of quality care.
My son and daughter have gone here for two years - my daughter for full-time pre-school and my son for after school care. My kids LOVE it here. The facility itself isn’t the newest in town, but the charm of an older place actually appealed to me. You can tell this is a place where kids come to be and have fun. The longevity of the staff is impressive. They love these kids. My daughter does not usually hug people, but she will not leave at the end of the day without giving her teachers a hug. The administration team has always been very attentive and responsive, and I trust everyone there. We love PCA!!!
The staff here is like family. My children attended preschool here over 25 years ago and now my grandchildren. Most of the staff has been here for over 20 years and they are very caring and nurturing, always doing what is in the best interest of the children and their development.
Will never recommend this preschool to anyone I know again. If I could give 0 stars I would! This daycare likes to discriminate and single people out. They are also not friendly in any way upon drop off / pick up or any communication. The lady that sits with the kids in the mornings upon drop off just sits there, never says good morning or anything. Upon pick up my son is always filled with sand. The afternoon teacher also doesn’t do anything with them and frankly I feel they could care less about the children. My son has also said at nap time a teacher yells at him and he’s told me a couple times he’s been unable to go to the bathroom because a chair is in the way at nap time. The only good thing that came out of my son being here is that his teacher, ms Tania taught him how to write his name and she was probably the most personable there. Other than that, this pre school isn’t the cleanest, it is disorganized, and they discriminate!!!
This place (it’s more like a day care and not a preschool) doesn’t have any real play ground for kids ;they have multiple sand areas which are not completely shaded and the sand which my son brought home in his clothes/shoes.The building is very unorganized and is like a maze .The building looks like multiple homes connected together and doesn’t look organized like a professional day care should .Its hard to believe that a childcare facility like this exists in a nice area like South Tampa. My child went there for 2 weeks VPK wrap care in January. The teachers didn’t seem nurturing and look frustrated with their job .I didn’t see any academic centric environment;so I had to look for a real preschool.I wouldn’t recommend it to parents looking for a quality day care /preschool for their kids.
My daughter absolutely loves it here and her teachers are very sweet. She’s definitely shown improvements in her writing and is always excited to show me what she’s learned that day when she gets home. They’re always adding extra activities to do with the kids so that everyday isn’t the same and I appreciate that! Thank you PCA!
