What Parents Say
Note: These reviews appear to be from an addiction treatment facility, not a daycare center. Reviews are overwhelmingly positive (all 5/5 ratings), with clients praising the inpatient and outpatient programs for life-changing recovery support, skilled and caring staff, and comprehensive resources for rebuilding their lives.
Millcreek Odyssey House took me 4.5 months to complete in patient and move on to it's out patient program. It was not too uncomfortable and got visits and phone calls. The client duties as Navigator were a little overbearing but over all was a good experience and growing experience. There was an awesome gym room to exercise and the staff was friendly and helpful. I received one border and one bust back over the in patient 4.5 months. Assignments dug deep and were not too complicated. There was a bit of rec time and I liked the movies we got to watch.
Odyssey house saved my life. I was at rock bottoms rock bottom and when I graduated the program I had gained every tool and skill I needed to be able to live a sober and happy life. I was reconnected into reality and now I have SO much to live for. I will never let this feeling go
Odyssey is really well funded and has astounding resources. It's pretty clean and there are no vermin. Some of the staff is kind and knowledgeable. Still, there are vast problems: The amount of waste is grotesque, and some of the staff have more problems than the clients. There are cult like aspects of the program and if you don't participate you are punished. They are rightfully rule crazy, but the rules are enforced so unevenly, you don't know what to expect day to day. Some of the staff is maliciously incompetent, and lazy at an Olympic level. Lastly, the peer leaders have far to much power, and far to little oversight. I got sober and learned some good skills there, but the management is gleefully evil. Imagine 1984 fused with Brazil and Catch 22, but everyone is anesthatized with sugar.
Odyssey House is a great way to learn good behaviors to make self change. I look forward to staying connected to people I have met through my journey here:)
I fully believe in Odyssey Residential. It has helped me find my voice and get comfortable with the uncomfortable. This is a behavior modification program that specializes in substance abuse. I'm now in sober living working on rebuilding a life worth living.
